James Horner’s Lawyer Issues Statement – It May Take Days To Confirm His Death

James Horner’s lawyer, Jay Cooper has just made a statement in regards to his missing friend. The music composer is presumed dead after he has not made contact with anyone since one an aircraft belonging to him crashed yesterday, killing one person. As the Inquisitr reported earlier, James Horner’s single-engine S312 Tucano went down around 9.30 a.m. on Monday, crashing into Los Padres National Forest and starting a small fire which was contained.

According to Deadline, James Horner’s lawyer, Jay Cooper has come forth with a following statement.

“Although we are all awaiting official confirmation that our dear friend and client James Horner was in fact the pilot, we are shocked and deeply saddened to learn that his single-engine aircraft was involved in a fatal crash yesterday morning in northern Ventura County. Our thoughts and prayers remain with James’ family at this difficult time. We can offer no further comment for the time being, except to ask that the family’s privacy be respected in the days ahead.”

The Ventura County Sheriff Adjunct have confirmed it will take days to identify the body found in the wreckage.

Yesterday, James Horner’s personal assistant, Sylvia Patrycja, posted a statement to her Facebook page about loosing someone close to her (presumably James Horner).

“A great tragedy has struck my family today, and I will not be around for a while. I would like some privacy and time to heal. We have lost an amazing person with a huge heart, and unbelievable talent. He died doing what he loved. Thank you for all your support and love and see you down the road.”

News spread quickly across the entertainment industry as celebrities took to Twitter and Facebook to publicly offer their condolences to James Horner’s family and close friends. The man who James Horner worked closely with on many movies, James Cameron, even offered up a tribute piece to The Hollywood Reporter, the media outlet that first broke the news about Sylvia Patrycja’s tribute to her boss.

“No matter how [‘Titanic’] turned out, and no one knew at that point — it could have been a dog — I knew it would be a great score.”

“I was doing a lot of thinking about James when I heard the news and I checked online. The beginning and end of his filmography are films that he did, or would have done, with me. It’s a curious bookend. We both started out on the same film in 1980, and his last listed films are the Avatar sequels, which he would have begun later this year.”

James Horner is best known for his Oscar and Grammy winning musical score for the James Cameron movie, Titanic.
