Patrick Schwarzenegger: Film Role In ‘Midnight Sun’ Romance With Bella Thorne Eases Pain Of Miley Cyrus Split [Video]
Patrick Schwarzenegger has landed a film role that will give Miley Cyrus’ ex-boyfriend the chance to act with Bella Thorne.
The son of Arnold Schwarzenegger and the starlet are the leads in a young adult film called Midnight Sun, reported Deadline.
Directed by Scott Speer, known for helming Step Up: Revolution, the script for Patrick’s role was written by Eric Kirsten. Schwarzenegger’s film role will give him the chance to show his romantic side as his character, named Charlie, interacts with Bella’s character, Katie.
Midnight Sun is derived from a Japanese film that dates back to 2006. The title refers to the fact that the 17-year-old Katie must hide in her house because she suffers from a condition that makes sun potentially deadly. Able to go out only in the dark since she was a child, Katie’s life lightens when she and Charlie hook up.
Bella began her career as a breakout Disney Channel actress. Patrick is hoping to follow in the footsteps of his famous father Schwarzenegger’s film career.
But while it remains to be seen if Patrick can equal Arnold in the box office, Schwarzenegger may have a chance to get cozy with Thorne in real life. His split from Miley Cyrus was abrupt, reported People.
“It’s not a break,” confirmed an insider. “It’s done. They’re just in two different places in their lives – he’s in college and she’s focused on her music and career.”
But indications of trouble brewing between Miley and Patrick began during Schwarzenegger’s spring break, when he was with a date. Cyrus and Patrick had some ups and downs before ending their relationship.
In addition, as the Inquisitr reported, Miley now is dating Victoria’s Secret Angel Stella Maxwell.

“They hold hands and hug and are very comfortable together. They’re definitely together,” confirmed the insider of the 22-year-old pop singer and 24-year-old supermodel.
Prior to Stella, Miley was dating Patrick, with whom she hooked up after ending her engagement to Liam Hemsworth.
As for Schwarzenegger’s film role, no one is prouder than his mother Maria Shriver, reported People.
“Congrats to @PSchwarzenegger! So exciting. Hard work pays off,” tweeted Maria.
And it’s not just Patrick who has the chance to shine in the heartfelt story of romance making a difference for a teenager with a life-threatening disease. Bella also could go big at the box office.
Schwarzenegger and Thorne begin filming Midnight Sun in September.
