‘Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice’ Lex Luthor Speaks, Executives Deem It The ‘Most Anticipated Movie Of 2016’
While Zach Snyder has been good at keeping the spoilers to a minimum concerning Lex Luthor’s part in the upcoming Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, Jesse Eisenberg isn’t afraid to pull back the curtain and shed a little light on the character.
While it is known that the famous villain will be somewhat different from earlier renditions, Eisenberg, who plays Luthor in the movie, recently sat down with MTV and discussed how much his character is different this time around.
“There’s an emotional core to character. It’s not a silly villainous character … it is an entirely different thing.”
Although Luthor has been portrayed by some fairly high profile actors in the past, including Gene Hackman (’80s) and Kevin Spacey (2006), Eisenberg promises that his portrayal of Superman’s arch-enemy will be vastly different from the past.
“Also, the tone of that [Superman] movie is so different, like that movie wouldn’t be made now… Like the way we expect movies to be now is to have some kind of — I mean, it’s probably for the best — there’s some kind of psychological accuracy. That the person is coming from a place probably diagnosable in some way.”
Meanwhile, filmmakers are gearing up for the highly anticipated release of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. In fact, during Time Warner’s annual meeting last week in Atlanta, Georgia, CEO Jeff Bewkes discussed the company’s future plans with the movie.
According to Variety, Bewkes shares the enthusiasm most fans have about the release of the new movie. Along with revealing an image of Ben Affleck as the new Batman — one that was already viewed by fans at CinemaCon back in April — Bewkes promised that the movie would be the highest anticipated film in all of 2016.
Bewkes went on to reveal that Warner Bros. has plans to release even more movies in the DC Comics Universe. Much to the delight of DC fans everywhere, Bewkes stated that there could be as many as 10 more films on the way. Although little is known as to which stories are slated to be told, this is definitely good news for both the Batman and Superman franchises.
While fans will have to wait to see the plans of Warner Bros. unfold, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is set to premiere in theaters everywhere on March 25, 2016.
