Paul Walker’s Daughter Remembers Her Dad With Father’s Day Instagram Tribute

For millions upon millions of people around the world who are missing their dads this Father’s Day, 16 year-old Meadow Walker said it all. In a post to Instagram, the daughter of the late Furious 7 star shared a memento of childhood with the simple inscription “happy Father’s day.”

Over the course of six hours, the Instagram pic garnered over 67,000 likes and scores of comments from admirers and well-wishers..

The happy faces of the father and daughter hearkened back to a simpler, happier time for young Meadow, whose father died in a tragic car accident in late 2013. He was 40-years-old.

E! Online reports that Meadow has paid tribute to her dad online in the past, including a heartwarming “Throwback Thursday” post earlier this year and another photo on Paul Walker’s birthday.

According to The Mirror, Meadow lived with her father for two years before his untimely passing. She currently lives with her mother, Rebecca Soteros. She recently met up with her late father’s Fast and Furious co-stars Vin Diesel and Elsa Patakay at Cochella. She posted a pic from that get-together on Instagram, as well.

In Touch recently reported that Meadow has another high-profile friend in Noah Cyrus, the 15-year old sister of Miley Cyrus. The two recently spent some time hanging out in Martha’s Vineyard along with their mutual friend Kendal Winnaman, the daughter of an entertainment executive.

Although Meadow seems to have plenty of great friends and supporters, she surely misses her dad every day. Like so many others who can’t be with their dads on Father’s Day, she has chosen to remember her dad publicly and poignantly. But through the powerful platform of social media, Meadow’s special tribute touched hearts both far and wide.

Many other celebrities marked Father’s Day via Instagram and Twitter, too. Some shared shout-outs to their dads, while others celebrated their own experiences in fatherhood. Comedienne Amy Schumer kept things consistent with a ranchy rib on her dad and Justin Timerlake posted a selfie in which he held his baby Silas.

Of the many things written in poetry and prose about what it means to be a father, perhaps the true testament to fatherhood is not just how children view their fathers but how they ultimately emulate their dads’ examples in their own lives. Meadow Walker’s cherished memory of her dad suggests that she is determined to make Paul Walker’s legacy a happy and uplifting one.
