Jordan Spieth Wins U.S. Open, But Where Was Girlfriend, Annie Verret?
Jordan Spieth has won the 2015 U.S. Open with a six-under-par, joining an elite group of golfers who have won the Masters and U.S. Open titles in the same year, which include Craig Wood, Ben Hogan, Arnold Palmer, Jack Nicklaus, and Tiger Woods.
The nerves mounted as Spieth waited to see if Dustin Johnson, who was one stroke behind, would tie for the lead and the chance to go head to head in a playoff round on Monday.
After a heartbreaking three-put by Johnson, Spieth congratulated the win with his family and friends.
But where was his adorable girlfriend and childhood sweetheart, Annie Verret?
Back in April, Verret was on hand in Augusta, Georgia, to watch her 21-year-old high school boyfriend win the Master’s Golf Championship in an epic final round, making hearts go pitter-pat across the golfing universe.
Spieth is now the U.S. Open champion, but some would argue that he already has the ultimate prize — his girlfriend Annie Verret. The couple have become the darlings of the links. Many a girl and many a guy are likely just a little bit jealous of their mature relationship.
As previously reported by the Inquisitr, Jordan Spieth and girlfriend Annie Verret began dating in high school and maintained a long-distance relationship while they attended different Big 12 colleges.

Jordan Spieth’s golf game excelled while attending the University of Texas, where he led the team in securing three events his freshman year. He later lead his team in winning the NCAA title during his sophomore year. While playing for the university, he earned All-American honors, All-Big 12 Team, Big 12 Freshman of the Year, and Player of the Year.
Meanwhile, girlfriend Annie Verret completed her business degree, earning a 4.0 GPA and her name on the dean’s list. She was also named to the President’s Honor Roll twice.

She currently works as an event coordinator at The First Tee of Greater Dallas, which helps underprivileged kids find a passion for the game of golf.
Annie is not the only special lady in his life. He has a very close bond with his special-needs sibling, Ellie, who he says helps him keep a level head despite all the attention he has received this year.
“Being Ellie’s brother humbles me every day of my life.”
Despite Jordan Spieth’s astronomical rise to fame, he and girlfriend Annie Verret seem to lead a rather simple life, according to The Sun Times.

Annie Verret does not seem to clamor for the spotlight either. Both her Twitter and Instagram accounts are private, which illustrates just how clever this girl is.
Many have praised Jordan for his maturity. In a column for the Washington Post, Thomas Boswell, marveled at the young golfing star.
“In normal human development, 21-year-olds are only supposed to be partially formed, ill-suited to seeing all the sides of complicated issues, and at times they’re just jerks. Years later, that all gets sorted out, and we meet the person they become.
“Spieth has shattered that view. Many say he’s just what U.S. golf needs.”
It’s pretty easy to see why Jordan Spieth and Annie Verret are the golfing “it” couple.
