WWE News: WWE Superstar Dolph Ziggler Set To Leave WWE Very Soon
WWE Superstar Dolph Ziggler may be a popular star in WWE right now, but he is not at the top of the list in management. That can be frustrating for many, especially when they have other interests that entice them as much as competing in WWE. The lack of being used well, and the fact that he has other things he wants to do outside of wrestling, could soon lead to the departure of Ziggler.
Former WWE Creative Team Writer Court Bauer, who works for MLW Radio reporting on backstage news in WWE, recently spoke about Ziggler and his unhappiness with WWE on a recent show.
“Dolph’s deal is up in a few months and he has indicated informally that unless he gets a big push, he may leave like Mundo (former WWE Superstar John Morrison, who is known as Johnny Mundo in Lucha Underground).”
This is a big situation for WWE, as one of their top storylines currently involves Dolph Ziggler. The entire Rusev/Lana storyline has to go slower now due to Rusev getting hurt, and because of this, Lana is expected to be with Ziggler for a while. She obviously cannot do this if he is gone in the next few months. The rumor does have merit as Ziggler pretty much started the rumor himself.
He decided to do a big “worked-shoot” promo on Twitter prior to his match with Sheamus at WWE Extreme Rules months back. It was around this time that rumors began to surface that Ziggler didn’t seem happy with his role with WWE, which made all the sense in the world. For the most part, Ziggler has been floating in WWE. The company had all the momentum in the world with him after he was pretty much made at WWE Survivor Series last year. Dolph Ziggler was as over as one could get.
He ended up winning the Intercontinental Championship and gaining popularity that one could use to become a bigger star than they already were. However, WWE decided to sort of let all of this die off.
To add more fuel to the fire, TNA President Dixie Carter is very aware of the rumor Dolph Ziggler could be leaving and is set to actively pursue him if he chooses to go. Apparently she is looking to acquire yet another high-profile wrestler to help curb some negative press TNA is currently getting. She also hopes a big signing like this would give the company more momentum that they desperately need at this point.
Many within WWE are said to be heavily against the 34-year-old leaving the company right now. However, Dolph Ziggler is not happy with his position in WWE and wants a change. He may not look as old as he is, but being 34-years-old, he is more toward the end of his career than the start of it. The time is now to use him up as much as possible, but WWE has chosen to avoid it.
Most are against him even considering TNA at this point due to their uncertain future with Destination America, among other reasons. However, Dolph would get big money with TNA most likely on top of a high-profile position that WWE wouldn’t be able to give him. However, could Dolph Ziggler alone protect TNA from losing a TV deal or going under? This is highly unlikely as even Hulk Hogan, Sting, and Ric Flair couldn’t even help them from losing one before.
