Taylor Swift Tops Billboard Artist 100 Chart While Justin Bieber Returns To Top 40

Taylor Swift is the No. 1 artist of the week. Billboard broke the news this afternoon.

“Taylor Swift leads the Billboard Artist 100 (dated June 27) for a record-extending 29th week, remaining the top musical act in the U.S…Swift stays atop the Artist 100, bolstered by a 9 percent gain in overall activity, according to Nielsen Music.”

Meanwhile, Taylor Swift remains at No. 2 on the Hot 100 with “Bad Blood,” which was No. 1 three weeks ago. Taylor’s “Bad Blood” is the biggest gainer in airplay, but she is being kept from the No. 1 spot by Wiz Khalifa’s single “ See You Again ,” which is No. 1 for the ninth week. One can possibly predict that “See You Again” will become the No. 1 song of the year.

Besides Taylor Swift, the big news is that the newly reformed Justin Bieber returns to the Artist 100 after leaving for such a long time. Billboard talks about his comeback.

“Also notable on the Artist 100, Bieber hits a new high and returns to the chart’s top 40 for the first time in more than nine months, as he lifts 58-32 with a 49 percent gain in activity.”

Billboard notes that Bieber had last scored in the Artist 100’s top 40 on September 13, 2014, and previously peaked at No. 34 a couple months earlier. Justin made a lot of mistakes over the past few years and, according to Gossip Cop , says he’ll never apologize for being human.

“People wanted me to apologize, which I don’t know if it’s really fair. I’ll definitely take responsibility… as I’m growing but I’ll never apologize for being human and making mistakes.”

Gossip Cop goes on to reveal that Justin believes making mistakes is just part of growing up. He is really happy where he is right now. He wishes people would just give him the benefit of the doubt. Perhaps they will when Bieber releases his new album later this year. Fuse TV recently published a guide to Bieber’s new album , and it sounds like it’s shaping up to be a real big hit.

However, no matter how much of a comeback Bieber has, he’ll certainly not reach the levels of fame Taylor Swift is at now. She has placed an album in the top 10 (mostly top five) since October of last year, and she is playing double stadium nights in cities such as Chicago, San Francisco, Boston, and other places throughout the world. She may actually beat Madonna as this year’s biggest female touring act. Let’s hope Taylor Swift and Justin Bieber continue to make waves on Billboard’s Artist 100 chart next week.
