Madonna is having a good day. Not only did the Queen of Pop announce that comedian Amy Schumer would open up for her New York City Rebel Heart Tour dates, but her video for “Bi*ch I’m Madonna” has garnered almost one million views without the day not even being close to ending.

First, lets get to the Amy Schumer news from the Huffington Post .

“On Thursday, Amy Schumer announced via Twitter that she would be opening for the singer on her ‘Rebel Heart’ tour in best way possible — capitalizing on pure nostalgia and the fact she was a pretty cute kid.”

The Huffington Post notes that Ms. Schumer shared a childhood audition video of her singing Madonna’s 1989 hit “ Like a Prayer .” Many Madonna fans and Amy Schumer fans took to Twitter to celebrate the news.

It’s not yet known if Amy Schumer will play any other dates in the United States, Europe, or Australia. Speaking of Australia, Madonna fans were hoping to get an official announcement about Madonna finally visiting their country a couple weeks back. MadonnaTribe , a fan site that has often provided accurate news on Madge before other sites, broke the news that never ended up happening.

“An update by the Australian division of Live Nation Entertainment, which has a page dedicated to the Rebel Heart Tour up since March is still missing, but now the local press is reporting that an announcement can finally take place next week.”

Amy Schumer is very similar to Madonna in that she challenges society’s double standards. The Guardian gave Amy’s Inside Amy Schumer comedy show a rave review.

“Like any great comic, she is not afraid to go against the grain. Her standup in particular pushes the boundaries. She gives a voice to those who see through the bullshit, imagining a brighter, fairer world while holding the current one up to the light for us all to see the grimy stains we’re leaving.”

It’s unfortunate that Schumer couldn’t appear in Madonna’s “Bit*ch I’m Madonna” video, which just about every other star appears in. There are cameos from Beyoncé, Kanye West, Rita Ora, Nicki Minaj, Chris Rock, Miley Cyrus, and others. Some were upset that most of the cameos looked like they were filmed on Apple’s FaceTime chat.

Madonna has also received the age-old criticism that she is too old to be sexy and, in general, just too old for this type of video. However, the video could help give Madonna her first legit Hot 100 hit off her Rebel Heart album, which has been overlooked. Tell us what you think about Madonna’s new video in the comments section.
