Chris Soules Talks Whitney Bischoff Split And Nick Viall’s ‘Bachelorette’ Return For Kaitlyn Bristowe
Chris Soules has finally spoken out about his split from Whitney Bischoff. During an appearance on The Dan PatrickShow, posted on Tuesday, the Bachelor star talked about what went wrong with Whitney. He also gave his opinion on Nick Viall returning to The Bachelorette to pursue Kaitlyn Bristowe.
Chris and Whitney announced their split in late May, about two months after viewers saw them get engaged on the finale episode. After the proposal, the two didn’t actually spend a lot of time together, since Chris went immediately to Dancing with the Stars. When asked by the radio show host if his engagement with Whitney was real, Chris said that it “technically” was.
“Well, we got engaged on the show. I mean technically yea [on whether the engagement was real]. She had the ring, the whole nine yards. We tried to make it work. We tried to figure things out in the real world. It’s much different in the real world than it is on TV, you know, on a television show. You kind of get the opportunity to, you know, actually experience real life together…”
Chris did hint that the whole Bachelor experience may have led him to do something he wouldn’t have in real life.
“They don’t pressure you to do it [get engaged]. I think the whole experience itself lends itself to like making you feel like you want to do that. And in the end of course there’s the final rose and, you know, it’s a really weird experience and it’s hard to explain unless you’ve been through it.”
When pressed for more details on his split from Whitney Bischoff, Chris Soules again wouldn’t go into details about what caused the breakup but said that she’ll always be a friend.
“Well there really is not much to say. I mean it was a relationship. She’s a great person and she’ll be a friend for the rest of my life and I’ll always care about her. Just didn’t work out. It was two people that were mature and went into a weird situation, came out, tried to make it work…”
As for Nick Viall’s return to the franchise, Chris implied that Nick likes the fame. Nick competed with Chris for Andi Dorfman on the previous The Bachelorette and returned to the show to compete for current star Kaitlyn Bristowe.
“Nick is an interesting guy. And he really seems to enjoy being, and wanting to continue to be, on The Bachelor franchise and, I mean, I don’t know. I don’t understand…If I was those guys, I would be very irritated to know that he’s back on the show…that’s a tough pill to swallow by the other contestants.”
As for whether he would ever return to The Bachelor again, Chris said that he would never go through that again.
“No. I’m glad I did it. It was a great experience but, you know, that chapter has past in my life and, you know, it’s a lot of pressure. It’s very intense. If you’re truly there to find someone, which I was, it’s a lot of emotional ups and downs. And it’s hard.”
Chris, who has been filming Food Network’s Worst Cooks in America, maintained that his real heart is with being on his Iowa farm.
“I really enjoy what I do [in Iowa.] I am trying to make the most out of the opportunities that now I’m having. It’s fun to come to New York, but I’m always glad when I get back there and get back to normal life. That’s just me being honest. I don’t live in Iowa because I want to live in Iowa, I live in Iowa because I love what I do there.”
As previously reported by the Inquisitr, Chris Soules’ ex-fiancee, Whitney Bischoff, recently spent a few days hanging out in Chicago with the two women who came in behind her for Chris, Becca Tilley, and Kaitlyn Bristowe, now the current star of The Bachelorette. Perhaps Whitney gave Becca and Kaitlyn the real lowdown on her failed relationship with Chris?
