Colombia needs to get something going if they want to advance to the knockout stage of the Copa America after a disappointing loss to their nemesis, Venezuela. Despite the not-so-surprising loss to a team that has given them problems in the past, 2014 World Cup sensation James Rodríguez is confident his team can advance.
They have their work cut out for them, as they currently sit at the bottom of Group C with no points, while Venezuela and Brazil are the leaders with three points each. Rodríguez expects his teammates to rally and thinks Colombia can benefit from Brazil’s attacking style.

“Against Brazil I expect a more open game, they can play more in attack, and generate more spaces in the back. it could be good for us.
It will not be easy to beat Brazil. We must be together and work together to win games.”
According to Colombia teammate Juan Camilo Zúñiga, Venezuela’s organized game threw them off and they found it difficult to find a rhythm.
“It was a bad game, that we can have, we are not perfect. We knew it was going to be difficult match against Venezuela. The objectives are clear – now we have to think about Brazil.”
If you watch the Brazil vs. Colombia live stream, you will see if Colombia can bounce back from the Venezuela defeat and prevail against a Brazil that didn’t necessarily impress in their opening game. This match will also see Zúñiga and Neymar face-off after their disastrous encounter at the World Cup.
Last summer, Zúñiga rammed Neymar in the back while trying to stop the Brazil defender and ended his World Cup bid. Neymar was rushed off the field screaming in pain with a back injury, which prevented him from playing in the semifinal against Germany, which Brazil lost 1-7.
But Brazil’s coach, Dunga, is downplaying the encounter, saying there are “no hard feelings” and both players already met during a game in the U.S. in 2014.
