Kaitlyn Bristowe: ‘Yes, I Kissed A Lot Of Guys’ On ‘The Bachelorette’

Kaitlyn Bristowe is a new kind of Bachelorette. The dance instructor created controversy almost from the time it was revealed she slept with a contestant before the fantasy suite dates. That episode has yet to air, but the storylines so far have revolved around men who don’t want to stick around for Kaitlyn and Kaitlyn’s choice to introduce a contestant, Nick Viall, from a previous season.

On Monday night’s episode, Ian Thomson accused Kaitlyn of being “surface,” and as The Daily Mail recalls, said to Bristowe, “I feel like you are here to make out with a bunch of dudes on TV.”

While the episode ended without revealing what happened after that conversation, Thomson was only the latest in a long line of men who either left on their own accord or were sent home by Kaitlyn outside of the traditional rose ceremony.

Of course, this is not a normal season. The 25 men came on to the program not sure whether Kaitlyn Bristowe or Britt Nilsson would be handing out roses.

Kaitlyn Bristowe came in third during Chris Soules’ season. Soules was known for kissing pretty much all of the women who came on the show to try to win his heart. Bristowe has also been open about her physical attraction to her own suitors. On her blog for People, she included a side note about her make-out sessions on the show.

“Yes, I kissed a lot of guys. I was trying to compartmentalize these different relationships, and I was just dating these guys how I ordinarily would. And, if I’m dating someone and I like them, I kiss them. It’s challenging to be in my position, asking everyone to understand my decisions, my mistakes and my journey. Everyone is different, and I would rather be disliked for who I am than liked for who I am not. It is too exhausting to try and make everyone happy or pretend. I hope everyone can understand that and try to be forgiving as they watch how all of this unfolds.”

Earlier in the season, when she first took heat for revelations she slept with a contestant, Bristowe said she would not apologize. She emphasized she was a 30-year-old woman and that sex frequently happens on The Bachelor and The Bachelorette, although it is not openly discussed.

Bristowe has been subject to hateful comments over social media, and she has, on occasion, chosen to respond directly.

The Bachelorette airs Monday on ABC.
