Has Alexis Bellino received an apology from Tamra Barney? Almost. A few seasons ago, Barney nicknamed her Real Housewives of Orange County costar “Jesus Jugs,” and now she appears to regret the faith-mocking moniker.
During a recent interview with the Christian Post , via a June 15 report by Reality Tea , Barney opened up about why she gave Alexis Bellino the nickname, and spoke of her new faith .
“I think for me, I just didn’t know what a Christian was. When you think of someone being a Christian you think they don’t do anything wrong. They’re not sinners, they don’t get boob jobs, whatever … and [Alexis Bellino] was the epitome of Orange County in my mind, and I think I just didn’t know. It was pure ignorance.”
As for her own faith, Barney, who was seen getting baptized during the Real Housewives of Orange County Season 10 trailer, said she’s not exactly perfect after finding faith, but she is trying.
“I think in the past six months I’ve felt like a new person. I’m not saying like, I’m perfect and I’m not saying I’m at church every single Sunday. I try to go every Sunday, I’m joining a Bible study …”
As the Inquisitr previously reported, Alexis Bellino spoke of Barney’s baptism during an interview with Perez Hilton weeks ago. Chatting with the publication, Alexis Bellino admitted she was surprised to see Barney find faith .
“I cannot believe that, but more power to her. Soul saved. That’s what matters. Let’s just hope her actions stay with what a baptism really means.”
During the same interview, Alexis Bellino was asked if she would ever return to The Real Housewives of Orange County , but said she had moved past the series. Her former co-star, Lydia McLaughlin, however, has been vocal about her desire to return to the show after initially leaving after season eight.
Below is what McLaughlin revealed to Wetpaint Entertainment in regard to her possible return.
“I say in the book that I would be open to maybe going back one day if I felt like it was my calling, or, you know … I don’t think that there was like, ‘This happened, so I left.’ It was just the stage of life that I was in.”
Alexis Bellino also left The Real Housewives of Orange County after the show’s eighth season, as did her on-again, off-again friend, Gretchen Rossi.
