Henry Cavill Talks About Superman In ‘Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice’
Henry Cavill returns to reprise his role of Superman in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and spoke a little about what moviegoers can expect from the Man of Steel in the Zack Snyder blockbuster.
Not much is known about the role Superman will have in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. The only thing we know for sure is that at some point, he and Batman (Ben Affleck) face-off, but it’s not an all out war throughout the film.
This past weekend, Henry Cavill attended the London Collections: Men show in London and elaborated on what fans really want to know about director Zack Snyder’s vision, what is preventing Superman from pulverizing Batman straight off the bat? (No pun intended).
Everyone knows that Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice will feature the first ever encounter between the two superheroes on the big screen and Snyder is — by all accounts — preparing something very special for fans. Superman is an alien and Batman is only a human, with very fancy toys to protect himself from the bad guys, but human anyway.
Earlier this year, Henry Cavill talked a little about this burning topic when JoBlo posed that very question to the British star.
“Well, if Superman is Superman, which he is, he wouldn’t,” Cavill said. “And therein lies your answer.”
Of course, Superman really wouldn’t just kill someone because he can. After all, it took a lot to kill General Zod in Man of Steel, and the same would be the case with Batman. If they can co-exist, then Superman would let Batman be.
From the trailer, we know that Batman is not very happy with the way Superman has been handling his new found fame after his controversial actions in Man of Steel. In Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice a confrontation is looming in the horizon when Superman lands in front of Batman on a rainy Gotham night.
So, why not just kill off Batman if he will make Superman’s life miserable? This is what Henry Cavill had to add to that question a few days ago.
“Superman wouldn’t get into a cage fight with just anyone,” the 32-year-old said. “Imagine, you wouldn’t get into a fight with someone if they hit you and you didn’t feel it, barely registered it. Superman wouldn’t even notice; he’s not quick to engage.”
