Bobbi Kristina Brown Update: Cousin Plans Worldwide Fundraiser To Raise Money For Her Care
After recent news concerning the overwhelming costs of keeping Bobbi Kristina Brown alive in a long-term medical rehabilitation center, it seems her cousin, Jerod Brown, wants to help the family out with the costs. Last Tuesday, he announced that he’s planning a global prayer tour to raise money for his cousin.
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports that Jerod Brown made the announcement on Facebook, and hopes that supporters will join him in helping his uncle Bobby Brown with the high expenses of medically caring for Bobbi Kristina.
“I am gearing up for #?PrayForBK Campaign tour here in the states and will continue overseas (USA, Dubai, Ghana, Asia, London, & Germany). We will be presenting my uncle Bobby a check to assist with the rehabilitation of Bobbi Kristina.”
Jerod Brown, who goes by YF Kennedy on Facebook, didn’t indicate how he plans to raise the money or what exactly the global tour entails. Earlier this year, Jerod, along with Nick Gordon, made commemorative t-shirts of Bobbi Kristina that he sent out for free to anyone who wanted to show support.
“This is a moment we all have shared together and though we ask for privacy, you all have given ME a feeling of comfort and definitely a confidence that we will witness a miracle here on Earth. Truthfully I’m just a NObody trying to tell Everybody about SOMEBODY! who can save ANYBODY! And we communicate to The Source through prayer! From the bottom of my heart and on behalf of Bobbi Kristina, we thank you!”
However, in February, Bobby Brown’s attorney released a statement that requested that the public stop listening to and stop buying into anything from unauthorized family members. The statement specifically mentioned Jerod Brown, indicating that he is not in touch with Bobby Brown and has no inside insight on the situation.
“At this time it is requested that the media cease speaking with unauthorized members of the family. The integrity of the events that led to the hospitalization of Bobbi Kristina must remain uncompromised. In particularly, Jerod Brown continues to makes statements and appear on television, however, he has not had any communication with Bobby Brown or the Houston family. He must be disregarded.”
The attorney also stated that no one should attend any functions set up by Jerod, as they are not authorized by Bobbi Kristina’s immediate family.
“Please do not attend any ‘meet and greet’ organized by Jerod Brown as he is unable to provide access to Bobbi Kristina or information on her condition. This is a criminal investigation and we do not need this side show.”
In March, Jerod Brown was arrested for driving without a license and giving false information to Atlanta police.
Yet, it seems, at least on surface, that Jerod has Bobbi Kristina’s best interest in mind. He was recently vocal regarding investigative writer Ian Halperin’s Whitney & Bobbi Kristina: The Deadly Price of Fame, which delves into reported drug use by Bobbi Kristina, suicide attempts, and assault attempts.
Jerod feels that the book is in bad taste and published at a time when prayers and positive support should be the only focus.
Meanwhile, as rumors surface regarding sending Bobbi Kristina Brown back home to her Roswell, Georgia, townhouse to remain in peace, she’s currently in a long-term rehabilitation center in the Atlanta area. Her family asks for prayers and support during this difficult time.
