New To Social Media, Dakota Johnson Flashes More Than A Smile

Dakota Johnson has jumped right into her next film project, riding the wave of success from Fifty Shades of Grey, so it’s no wonder Dakota hasn’t had time to make many headlines in recent months. Ms. Johnson has been busy filming How To Be Single, the New York-based romantic comedy, co-starring Rebel Wilson.

Early last week, Dakota was spotted on the job, shooting a scene in which Ms. Johnson’s character is seen walking down the street amidst a St. Patrick’s Day parade and the Fifty Shades of Grey actress is all business, as the scene progresses. Dakota is seen barely cracking a smile, as she walks briskly enough that her hair, cut short, bobs with her pace and her form-fitting black dress showcases Ms. Johnson’s curves.

It isn’t long before Ms. Johnson’s lips form that trademark smile that betrays the best attributes of both of her parents, Don Johnson and Melanie Griffith, and it seems that Dakota’s character has found some joy in the festivities all around her as she walks New York City’s populated streets. Ms. Johnson’s role is that of Alice, a young New Yorker searching the city for true love.

When Dakota Johnson isn’t strolling New York’s streets as her alter ego, she’s finding time to venture further into the realms of social media. Dakota recently opened her first Instagram account, captioning her first picture with a provocative thought, clearly meant to entice fans to follow her new method of exposure.

“I decided to begin everything from the very beginning. Also I will begin with the Instagram. Hi Instagram!”

Ms. Johnson states on her new Instagram account that she has made the page for “friends, family and loyal fans.” Though there aren’t many uploads from Dakota as of yet, Ms. Johnson has shared a couple pictures of herself with her half-sister, Stella Banderas.

Dakota has also shared a shot of the Empire State Building with a mention of her newest film, How To Be Single. The romantic comedy is described with a simple yet revealing synopsis on IMDb.

“New York City is full of lonely hearts seeking the right match, and what Alice, Robin, Lucy, Meg, Tom and David all have in common is the need to learn how to be single in a world filled with ever-evolving definitions of love.”

How To Be Single stars Dakota Johnson and Rebel Wilson alongside Allison Brie, Leslie Mann, and Damon Wayans Jr. The film is scheduled for a February 12 release date.
