One teenage girl, who was visiting from out of town, lost part of her arm after being bitten around 4 p.m. by a shark in on an Oak Island beach, which is about 30 miles south of Wilmington, according to Brunswick County officials.
According to a Facebook post by Oak Island Mayor Betty Wallace, the girl lost part of her left arm and may lose her left leg. She was airlifted to New Hanover Hospital in Wilmington, Wallace said.
