Lil Wayne Was Taken Out Of Context
Lil Wayne is one of the biggest names in the music business. And of late, Lil Wayne’s fans have been itching to get game changing vibes about his career after his relationship with Cash Money Records co-founder, Birdman, went sour.
Lil Wayne’s problem with the Cash Money Records label and Birdman began last year as a result of an alleged delay in the release of his Tha Carter V album.
At the time, Lil Wayne tweeted the following about the situation.
“To all my fans, I want u to know that my album won’t and hasn’t been released bekuz Baby & Cash Money Rec. refuse to release it.”
9:14 PM – 4 Dec 2014“This is not my fault. I am truly and deeply sorry to all my fans but most of all to myself and my family for putting us in this situation.”
9:15 PM – 4 Dec 2014“I want off this label and nothing to do with these people but unfortunately it ain’t that easy.”

According to a TMZ report telling Lil Wayne’s side of the story, Birdman violated the contract with the artist by delaying the album, which consequently led to loss of revenue. Lil Wayne is said to have filed for compensation totaling $51 million from the label.
So on Saturday night, when Lil Wayne announced that he had a deal with the iconic Jay Z, many of his fans instinctively thought he had entered into a new record deal with Jay’s label. This was at the KMEL Summer Jam in California. Lil Wayne shouted the following during the event.
“I just signed a deal with my m***f*****g idol Jay Z”
However, this was not a record deal, according to his manager, Cortez Bryant, who offered clarification about the said agreement to Billboard.
“The Internet and blogs took his words out of context. When Wayne was speaking about the partnership with Jay Z, he was speaking about his new deal as an artist owner with Tidal. “
Tidal is a music subscription site owned by Jay Z. Joint owners announced during its launch in March included Kanye West, Beyoncé, Rihanna, Nicki Minaj, Madonna, and Daft Punk. This is according to The Independent.
However, by investing in the service, Lil Wayne seems to have borrowed a leaf from Christina Milan his current girlfriend, who has invested in three apps since April. One of her apps is a twerking app, which the Latina Magazine reports.
“The app allows users to take virtual classes wherever they are. It offers a variety of step-by-step instructions, full routines, and photos. Users can follow along and get a LexTwerkOut lesson in the comfort of their own homes.”
