‘Orange Is The New Black’s Nicky Is Gone From Season 3, Natasha Lyonne Stays Mum
Season 3 of Orange is the New Black is already out, and everyone is still in high spirits about the highly anticipated series of the year. But as episodes of Orange is the New Black ticked by, people started to notice that one of our favorite Orange of the New Black characters is missing.
Bustle puts into light that Orange is the New Black character Nicky Nichols is actually missing from the majority of the episodes of season 3. Played by actress Natasha Lyonne, Nicky Nichols started to disappear from season 3, a couple of episodes in.
In episode 3 of Orange is the New Black, Nicky and her little drug trick gets busted, and she is sent to maximum security as punishment. Characters Red and Morello lament Nicky’s fate, with the true evil nature of Max still unknown. After Nicky is sent to Max, there are no more known appearances of the character, even missing from the opening credits of Orange is the New Black itself. When is Natasha Lyonne coming back?
Since Orange is the New Black is already confirmed for season 4, OITNB fans are hoping that Nicky finally gets out of max to return to the series in season 4.
Natasha Lyonne has been one of the biggest stars of the show Orange is the New Black, even one of the actresses to get nominated for an Emmy in 2014. Her co-actress, Uzo Aduba, bagged the Emmy, but to see her missing out on so much is such a heartbreak for millions of Orange is the New Black fans all over the world.
Fans are bombarding @OITNB, @Netflix, and Natasha’s twitter account for answers about Nicky’s absence in season 3, but no answers have been given away. Natasha Lyonne continues to stay mum about her absence from season 3, and instead puts out comical tweets about binge-watching Orange is the New Black season 3.

Refinery 29 reports that there might be a possibility that Natasha Lyonne has asked to be written out of season 3, since she is reported to have committed to a number of projects prior to the release of Orange is the New Black season 3. As of now, four of her projects are already in post-production, including Kevin Smith’s Yoga Hosers.
OITNB fans are hoping that Nicky reappears as a season regular for season 4 and we can only cross our fingers till then. Orange is the New Black went back into production June and is expected to finish summer next year.
