Amanda Bynes Hits Cop Car, Arrested For DUI

Former Nickelodeon star Amanda Bynes was arrested last night in West Hollywood for driving under the influence. Bynes reportedly hit a cop car shortly before she was pulled over and given a DUI.

TMZ reports that Bynes was trying to pass a cop car in her BMW late last night. The star misjudged her passing maneuver, however, and clipped the squad car. Bynes was pulled over and given a DUI.

The West Hollywood Sheriff’s Department writes:

“(At 3 a.m.) a Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Deputy in a marked black and white radio car, was stopped at the intersection of … Robertson Boulevard and Santa Monica Boulevard preparing to turn right onto Santa Monica Boulevard when a black BMW driven by actress Amanda Bynes attempted to pass the right of the radio car, colliding with the right rear quarter panel of the radio car. There was minor paint transfer damage to both vehicles. Amanda Bynes was subsequently arrested for driving under the influence and booked at West Hollywood Sheriff’s Station.”

Bynes, turned 26 earlier this week, had her bail set at $5000. Bynes has not commented on the incident.

TMZ reports that Bynes was spotted leaving a bar on St. Patrick’s Day and getting into a car. A reporter at the scene said that the star seemed quite intoxicated. Gossip Cop reports that Bynes was recently pulled over last month for talking on her cellphone while driving.
