Zendaya, Gabby Douglas Graduate: ‘K.C. Undercover’ Star, Olympic Gymnast Wrap Up High School

It’s graduation time at schools all around the nation, and this season there are some some big celebrity graduations in the mix of things. Both Zendaya and Gabby Douglas graduated high school Thursday night from the same high school, and it seems both ladies got a bit emotional.

The K.C. Undercover star and former Dancing with the Stars contestant, as well as the Olympic gymnast, received their diplomas this week from the Oak Park High School in Oak Park, California, notes E! Online. Both Zendaya and Gabby Douglas graduated via the Oak Park Independent School, which allows for teens like these two to work and finish school at the same time.

Both young ladies shared photos from the big event via their Instagram pages during and after the event. It seems both the actress and the athlete had some emotional moments, as did their family and friends.

Zendaya shared her thoughts.

“Shout out, not just to all the 2015 grads but to the soon to be! Please remember knowledge is one of the most powerful gifts we have the privilege of receiving…don’t take that for granted. To every soon to be grad, know that you CAN do it! (if I can get through it then anyone can?) It’s a long road, so many things will pose as obstacles in your way and at times the end seems further and further away, but please remember the importance of that beautiful mind you have and all the limitless powers you hold. All my love? #sorryforgettingdeep?”

For her part, Gabby Douglas got a bit emotional too. She posted a photo on her Instagram page and had some words to share as well.

“not gonna lie. it was tough to balance school and gym.. but i did it! kno when u set ur mind to achieve something u can do it. anddddd yeas i’m at the airport… gotta get right back to the grind love u guys”

It seems that parents of the students involved in this year’s graduation had been given a heads-up that this would be a crowded, large graduation and that parking might be an issue. Despite the large crowds and the notable graduates involved, it seems the ceremony that included having Zendaya and Gabby Douglas graduate went off pretty smoothly.

According to ABC7 Chicago, there was another very famous person in attendance as well and his presence may have added to the excitement and large attendance. Actor Bob Newhart spoke at the commencement ceremony, and he also happens to be the grandfather of one of the graduates. From the looks of things, everybody had a great evening at the event. Congratulations to Zendaya, Gabby Douglas, and all the graduates on their big accomplishment!
