‘Once Upon A Time’ Spoilers Reveal The Fates Of Robin Hood And The Wicked Witch

The season finale of Once Upon A Time left fans with some exciting questions and mysteries throughout the magical town of Storybrooke, but the fates of two of Once Upon A Time‘s characters may not be as up in the air as they once were only a few hours ago. Sources report that Rebecca Mader and Sean Maguire will both be rejoining Once Upon A Time in season 5 as series regulars.

Rebecca Mader has been spotted around the magical kingdom of Once Upon A Time for two seasons now, first appearing as The Wicked Witch of the West in the show’s third season. It wasn’t long into that season before Mader’s character was revealed as Zelena, the half-sister of Regina Mills (Lana Parrilla).

Sean Maguire also joined Once Upon A Time in season 3, filling Robin Hood’s shoes in place of Tom Ellis, who formerly played the same character in Once Upon A Time‘s second season. Maguire also appeared as Robin Hood in the short-lived spin-off series Once Upon A Time In Wonderland.

It was thought that Rumpelstiltskin killed Zelena as Once Upon A Time drew close to the third season finale, but, proving she was still one step ahead of her half-sister, Zelena traveled back in time and appeared as Robin Hood’s late wife Marian (Christie Laing). There, she spent Once Upon A Time‘s fourth season plotting to steal Regina’s true happiness by seducing Robin Hood and getting him to impregnate her. In spite of Zelena’s ploy, Regina and Robin seemed to stay on track with their romance.

The upgrading of both Mader and Maguire to series regulars implies that there may be much more to this story with events unfolding in unexpected ways in Once Upon A Time‘s fifth season. It seems that Regina will have her hands full dealing with a vengeful sister and an impending, if troublesome, pregnancy.

Meanwhile, sources report that Once Upon A Time will be diving right into Camelot mythology in season 5, which was confirmed by the revelation in the fourth season finale of Once Upon A Time that only the magician Merlin could save Emma Swan from the Dark One’s curse. Whether or not Merlin can indeed save Emma, sources have revealed that Once Upon A Time will also see King Arthur and Guinevere in heavy recurring roles throughout the fifth season.

Once Upon A Time will premiere in September on ABC.
