She may have appeared to be experiencing pure bliss as one of Hugh Hefner’s girlfriends, but in reality, life wasn’t so great for Kendra Wilkinson , according to former bunny, Holly Madison.
Madison is releasing a new memoir called Down the Rabbit Hole where she shares a whole lot about herself, but also quite a bit about Wilkinson, too.
While Wilkinson has claimed in the past that Hefner offered her a key to the mansion before they consummated their relationship, Madison says it wasn’t so.
According to E! , Madison explains, “Now, I don’t know if Kendra is trying to sound extra-desirable, innocent, or if her memory is just super rusty, but of course that’s not how it really went down . Hef isn’t stupid. He never asked anyone to become a girlfriend before they joined him in bed. And he never made a habit of carrying around extra sets of room keys.”
And what’s more, Wilkinson, who moved into the mansion in 2004, soon realized “that she wasn’t as special as Hef made her believe. She was just another blond girlfriend—and life at the mansion wasn’t all she imagined it to be.”
Wilkinson was a mere 19-years-old when she joined Hef’s two other girlfriends, Madison and Bridget Marquardt, and appeared on the reality show based on life at the Playboy Mansion, Girls Next Door . And despite all the fun that was shown on the cameras, Wilkinson had a whole lot of rules to follow as one of Hef’s girlfriends.
“At 19 years old, Kendra was stuck with a 9 p.m. curfew, a 78-year-old boyfriend, and a stricter set of rules than she had ever had at home,” explained Madison.
According to Washington Post , Madison often butted heads with the younger Wilkinson, claiming that Kendra had a “ sense of entitlement .”
Madison further referred to Wilkinson as “a rookie who had just gone all the way with an old dude and her only concern was how big her room was going to be.”
When the show ended and the relationships with Hef ended in 2010, so did the relationship between Kendra and the other girls. In an interview shortly after the ending of the show, Wilkinson stated that she “wasn’t really friends with” Holly or Bridget.

Madison contacted Wilkinson about why she would say that, to which Wilkinson replied, “WHO ARE YOU???? I DON’T EVEN KNOW YOU! WE WERE NEVER FRIENDS. IT WAS ALL JUST WORK.”
It was that response that lead Holly to refer to Kendra as “the fakest person ever” and delete her number from her phone.
And while Holly hasn’t talked to her since, it’s apparent that she is more than willing to talk about Kendra Wilkinson and their time together in the Playboy Mansion.
