Justin Bieber Teases Stunning ‘L’uomo Vogue’ Cover Shoot, Move Over Ponyboy
Justin Bieber loves fashion. And selfies. Those two loves combined in spectacular — er — fashion on Wednesday when the 21-year-old superstar teased two pics on Instagram from a photo shoot for L’uomo Vogue, the Italian Men’s Vogue.
According to an Instagram posted by Vogue Italia a few hours after the Biebs’ preview, the singer will grace the cover of the July-August issue of L’Uomo Vogue magazine.
Impressions of the shots?
Imagine a scrubbed up “Ponyboy Curtis,” played by C. Thomas Howell, in The Outsiders (1983) and you’re in the right ballpark. The two (and yes, one is fictional) have the same confused, loner air. Even though Bieber is a now a rich, young adult, he didn’t come from money. And, to many, he is from the wrong side of the tracks.
In the first black-and-white photo, the heartthrob is seen in a reflective pose. Bieber wears beautifully fitted black pants. This is teamed with lighter, probably suede boots, a white t-shirt, and a black leather jacket.
The Biebs’ greaser-made-good look is capped with neatly styled hipster hair. The “Where Are U Now” singer tagged his glam team in his Instagram caption, adding Italian Vogue, and famed photographer Francesco Carrozzini.
The stylist Karla Welch and hairstylist Florido received nods. The hashtag #luomovogue followed.
In the second shot from the shoot, the same tags are used. Bieber wears a t-shirt and a huge woollen jumper draped around his neck.
The snap shared by Italian Vogue comes a close second to the Ponyboy pic. It is certainly suave in a very Italian sort of way. Bieber’s hair is groomed in preppy waves, and he rocks the same white t-shirt, and a winter coat or jacket.
The Instagram caption reads, “A preview of L’Uomo Vogue July-August issue cover story with @justinbieber by @francescocarrozzini #francescocarrozzini #luomovogue more to come…”

The new photos come amid a tsunami of hysterically funny Snapchat stories Bieber began filming in Los Angeles and has continued in Hong Kong, after jetting in on Tuesday ahead of performing in a Thursday concert hosted by Calvin Klein.
The Canadian was unveiled as the new face of Calvin Klein’s Jeans and Underwear back in January alongside the Dutch model Lara Stone. Bieber’s model pal, Kendall Jenner, will also be attending the concert in Hong Kong. The 19-year-old was announced as the brand new face of the brand’s Denim Series in March.
On Wednesday, Justin Bieber headlines were trilling over Instagram photos posted by the Stratford singer and his former girlfriend, Selena Gomez.
On Monday, Selena posted a (literally) steamy, topless selfie in a shower. The caption? “Ready.. #itscomingsoon.”
A day later, Justin Instagrammed a shirtless photo of himself in a steam or shower room setting.
The apparent coincidence has led to speculation that Selena is prepping a song, video, or music that involves Justin, such as a duet. Perhaps it’s “Unfamiliar,” the unreleased song the former couple recorded when they were on-off dating?
And, perhaps the rumor mill is reading too much into Instagram selfies? After all, the Biebs posts shirtless selfies all the time. Either way, time will tell.
Until then, Justin Bieber as an upgraded Ponyboy in L’Uomo Vogue will do nicely.
