‘Breaking Bad’ Lives On With Heisenberg-Inspired ‘Blue Ice’ Vodka
Breaking Bad may have ended its reign in 2013, but fans of the landmark series are now getting the chance to revive the incredibly popular AMC drama with a limited edition vodka that pays homage to Walter White’s alter ego, Heisenberg.
Heisenberg Blue Ice Vodka, which tributes White’s transition from a high school chemistry teacher to a murderous methamphetamine cook, is now available in stores and online via 21st Century Spirits through a partnership with Sony Pictures Television, who produced the show, LA Times reports.

The first thing fans will notice about the limited edition Breaking Bad-themed vodka is its blue color, which is a nod to Heisenberg’s trademark “Blue Sky” meth that White dealt alongside his former student, Jesse Pinkman.
Time reports that the bottles also commemorate some of the most memorable quotes from Breaking Bad, including “Tread Lightly,” “Say My Name,” and “The One Who Knocks.”
Breaking Bad creator Vince Gilligan spoke out on the news of the series getting its own line of spirits, revealing that he hopes fans find creative ways to incorporate the vodka into a variety of concoctions.
“The Dude and his White Russians, the Blues Brothers had their Night Train..and now Heisenberg has his very own Blue Ice Vodka. I’m counting on our fans to use it in the creation of a great many delicious cocktails. I’m getting thirsty just thinking about it.”
The president of 21st Century Spirits, Thomas Gibson, also released a statement to People regarding the Breaking Bad collaboration, revealing his excitement over being able to commemorate the series in a way that resembles both Breaking Bad and Walter White’s character.
“We are extremely proud of this collaboration between one of the finest shows on television and our best in class Blue Ice Vodka. Our desire for the ‘perfect batch’ of vodka mirrors the unyielding commitment to quality exhibited by both the series and the notorious Heisenberg.”
The vodka uses a “continuous column distillation” that is combined with a “patented five-stage filtration process” that ensures it is among the purest products available on shelves today. However, Entertainment Weekly reveals that Breaking Bad fans are wondering: is it 99 percent pure like Heisenberg’s infamous blue meth?
While fans have already taken to social media to share their excitement over the collaboration and brainstorm recipes to incorporate Breaking Bad vodka into their favorite cocktails, could there be other Breaking Bad-inspired spirits on the horizon?
