Miley Cyrus Opens Up About Sexuality And Gender Identity In ‘Paper’ Magazine
Miley Cyrus has been making headlines for her nude photo shoot with Paper magazine. The “Wrecking Ball” singer stripped down for the magazine’s Summer 2015 issue, where she poses in the buff with her pet pig. Now, the 22-year-old entertainer is talking about her gender identity and sexuality.
Cyrus took to Instagram to share photos from her very naked shoot. Inside the magazine, the singer poses in a series of artsy photos that feature her naked and covered in paint. Cyrus also says that she’s “open” when it comes to her lifestyle choices. She also opened up about her bisexuality.
“I am literally open to every single thing that is consenting and doesn’t involve an animal and everyone is of age. Everything that’s legal, I’m down with. Yo, I’m down with any adult — anyone over the age of 18 who is down to love me.”
Miley also revealed in the interview that she doesn’t relate to a specific gender. She also doesn’t mind if her partner does the same.
“I don’t relate to being boy or girl, and I don’t have to have my partner relate to boy or girl.”
Miley insists that she’s been in relationships with other women. What’s the real reason why Miley’s same-sex relationships haven’t been as high-profiled as her relationships with men? She said that the media has “never really looked at it,” even though her same-sex relationships were just as serious. Miley then admitted that she wasn’t as open about her relationships with women.
“I’ve had that. But people never really looked at it, and I never brought it into the spotlight.”
Cyrus recalled the time she told her mom, Tish Cyrus, when she was 14, that she was bisexual.
“I remember telling her I admire women in a different way. And she asked me what that meant. And I said, I love them. I love them like I love boys. And it was so hard for her to understand. She didn’t want me to be judged and she didn’t want me to go to hell. But she believes in me more than she believes in any god. I just asked for her to accept me. And she has.”
Miley Cyrus isn’t just getting naked for the sake of art or attention. She’s also focused on promoting her new charity, the Happy Hippie Foundation. Cyrus charity focuses on homelessness on youth, especially those in the LGBT community.
“I can’t drive by in my f**king Porsche and not f**king do something. I see it all day: people in their Bentleys and their Rolls and their Ubers, driving past these vets who have fought for our country, or these young women who have been raped.”
Unlike most celebrities, the wild entertainer realizes that she lives a lucky life.
“I was doing a show two nights ago, and I was wearing butterfly nipple pasties and my butterfly wings. I’m standing there with my t*ts out, dressed like a butterfly. How the f**k is that fair? How am I so lucky?”
