Salma Hayek, Hot And Happy, Credits Juicing And Intense Workouts For Decade Of Hotness Honor [Photos]
Salma Hayek is hot and happy about that adjective. However, the 48-year-old actress admitted that the older she gets, the more she loves it when, as was the case in being chosen for the Decade Of Hotness honor at the Spike’s 2015 Guys Choice Awards, she’s considered to have the epitome of a bombshell body, reported People.
Reflecting on how she felt when she was beginning her acting career, Salma recalls that she wanted reviewers to focus on her ability rather than her appearance.
“When you start you’re like, ‘No, I want them to see me for my talent, and know me as an actress,’ ” explained Hayek. “Now?! They want to give me a decade of hotness – I’m like, ‘Bring it on!’ You really like to be ‘hot’ after you’re 40.”
As to how she maintains that fabulous figure, Salma is dedicated to working out and eating right, her trainer Sara Shears told Shape.
She is an expert at juicing for nutrition and relies on Pilates for toning and lengthening.
“Salma is super smart and has so much drive! She always puts all her effort into her workouts and that’s the reason she gets results,” praised Sara.
Because Hayek is busy, she stays hot with intense exercise sessions that last about 30 minutes.
“We did a lot of kickboxing, dance type workouts with strength training and ball work. We’d build up cardio and high-intensity interval training with exercises that really bring the heart rate up. Salma is super petite, so adding in the strength training really gave her some nice muscle definition and lines to accentuate the beautiful body she was born with.”
When it comes to juicing, Salma doesn’t just do toss some veggies into a blender. Instead, Hayek teamed up with Eric Helms (known as the Juice Generation guy) to create the juice cleansing program called Cooler Cleanse, reported NY Mag.
Salma came up with the idea because she had asked Eric to send juices to her regularly via FedEx to cleanse before red carpet events. And so they joined forces to create recipes that pleased her particular palate.
“If you know her, you know she’s very particular,” acknowledged Helms.
Hayek isn’t the only celebrity who believes that juicing is the recipe for staying hot at every age. As the Inquisitr reported, mom and daughter Goldie Hawn and Kate Hudson believe in the benefits of green juice and drink it faithfully for their Fountain Of Youth.
