Custody Battle Looming? ‘Teen Mom 2’ Leah Messer Shares Photos Of Kids From Rehab
A custody battle appears to be looming when it comes to Teen Mom 2 star Leah Messer’s strained relationship with her ex-husband, Corey Simms, and soon-to-be ex-husband, Jeremy Calvert.
On June 9, Mstarz offered a custody battle update, claiming Messer has been sharing photos of her daughters while in rehab.
Prior to entering rehab, reportedly for issues with depression and stress, Messer’s marriage to her second husband, Calvert, fell apart. In October of last year, after months of fighting over Calvert’s busy work schedule, Messer was accused of cheating with Robbie Kidd, her ex-boyfriend, and the same man she slept with days before marrying her first husband, Simms.
Since the allegations were made, divorce and custody battles continued to swirl, some of which claimed Messer could potentially lose custody of her three children, Adalynn, 2, Aleeah, 5, and Ali, 5. However, at this point, it is unclear whether or not Calvert has actually pursued a custody battle against Messer (he filed for divorce in November of last year).
During the fifth season of Teen Mom 2, Messer was seen being faced with her first custody battle over her twin girls. In court, Simms reportedly spotlighted Messer’s alleged drug use (the reality star has been rumored to be addicted to prescription pills), and erratic behavior on the show.
As the Inquisitr previously reported, Messer’s mother initially denied that her daughter was heading to rehab. However, after Messer reportedly checked into rehab at the end of last month, the family were said to have changed their tune. In fact, a Hollywood Gossip report claimed the Messer family spoke out, revealing the reality star was suffering from “severe emotional distress.”
“Members of Leah’s family have insisted that the troubled Teen Mom star is not on drugs, and is instead suffering from severe emotional distress. Her mother has stated that Leah is in rehab for stress and depression, but others in her inner circle know otherwise.”
As rumors of her custody battle swirled, claiming both Simms and Calvert were building cases against her, In Touch Weekly revealed the following.
“She’s ready for her 30-day stint of therapy. She’s being treated for depression and stress. She’s always put other people’s needs ahead of her own, and her mental health suffered because of it.”
For more Leah Messer, and to see details regarding her custody battle with both Simms and Calvert, tune into the sixth season of Teen Mom 2 on July 9 at 10 p.m. on MTV.
