‘The Bachelor’ 2016: Shawn Booth, Josh Murray Top Contenders For Next ‘Bachelor’ [Spoilers]
Who will be cast as The Bachelor 2016? There is speculation that the two top contenders for ABC’s leading man are Andi Dorfman’s ex, Josh Murray, and current Bachelorette contestant Shawn Booth.
Josh has long been rumored to be the next guy to hand out roses until Shawn was cast for the Kaitlyn Bristowe’s season of the Bachelorette. Her season doesn’t end until July 27, but spoilers indicate that she walks away from the final rose ceremony single, making Shawn — one of her two final picks — a worthy candidate for the role.
Is it too early to start voting for @Shawn_Booth to be the next #Bachelor?! #BachelorNation @BacheloretteABC

Reality Steve reports that Booth may have come on the show for more than just love, stating that he is at the “top of the list for the next Bachelor.” Not only is the 28-year-old Nashville resident doing his best to show Kaitlyn how serious he is about love whenever he gets a moment alone with her, he also quit his job as an insurance company consultant before filming started.
It’s apparent that Shawn was extremely confident that he’d either win Kaitlyn’s heart, or end up as the next Bachelor when he left his career behind for a reality TV gig.
Long before Shawn was cast as a contestant for the Bachelorette, Josh Murray seemed to be the only guy who would be picked as the Bachelor 2016. According to Hollywood Life, Josh had the role on his mind while he was on Andi’s season — he “hoped to be the runner up” so he could take the role that ultimately went to Chris Soules.
“During the filming of the show the producers kept telling Josh that if Andi didn’t pick him, he would be the nextBachelor. So he has been resentful towards Andi because he knows he could have been in the lime light as the Bachelor, so now [that he’s single] he is going to make a play to try to be the next Bachelor. Even though they are telling their friends [their split] was mutual he ended it.”
Of course, there is no confirmation that Hollywood Life‘s story is true, but there is no doubt that Josh would bring in the viewers — he has a big following on Twitter and Instagram, and his fans want to see him handing out roses in 2016.
