Messing, Chlumsky Are Twins at Tony Awards: Vanessa Hudgens, Kristin Chenoweth, Matthew Morrison Dazzle [Photos]
Debra Messing and Anna Chlumsky turned the 2015 Tony Awards into a seeing-double dress double-take for fashion watchers. But both Messing and Chlumsky saw the humor of their twinsies trick at the Sunday event, reported Us Weekly.
So just what appealed to the actresses about the attire? Color them purple – or eggplant, to be precise. In addition to the flattering shade, Anna and Debra apparently were attracted to the criss-cross necklines.
However, Lady Luck was shining on their fashion decisions, because Messing and Chlumsky went with variations on the style, reported the New York Daily News.
Grinning at the reality of their situation, they co-presented the award for Featured Actor in a Play. Messing went with Zac Posen, while Chlumsky chose a Sophie Theallet gown.
With the Tony Awards always standing out as one of the events at which to see and be seen when it comes to fashion, the ladies were not alone in turning heads.
Serving as the co-host while also nominated for Best Actress in a Musical, courageous Kristin Chenoweth went for a slinky silver designed by Zac Posen, reported Broadway.
And thanking heaven for her role in Gigi, Vanessa Hudgens charmed in floral. She performed during the awards event and rocked the auditorium with her ability to dance, sing, and act. The triple threat proved that musicals always are in style.
But it wasn’t just about the women. Former Glee star Matthew Morrison did his debonair best to delight the red carpet watchers, complete with pocket square and shiny white teeth.
Matthew also joined the cast of Finding Neverland to perform at the Tony Awards, reported Just Jared.
Co-starring with Kelsey Grammer, Morrison was accompanied to the event by his wife, Kayte Walsh.
As the Inquisitr pointed out, a variety of events throughout the year provide designer dress delight for celebrity fashion watchers.
Recently, Natalie Portman chose a daring outfit for Cannes, while Beyoncé stopped the red carpet traffic at the Met Gala. And for country crooner Carrie Underwood, the Billboard Music Awards gave her the opportunity to flaunt her fashion favorite.
