Jill Duggar Dillard Shares Big News About Baby Israel David Amidst Duggar Scandal
Despite the scandal surrounding the Duggar family, 19 Kids and Counting star Jill Duggar Dillard returned to social media this weekend to spread good news about her baby, Israel David. After taking time off from Twitter and Instagram, Jill and her husband, Derick both posted a photo of their smiling son to mark his two-month birthday on Saturday.
“Happy 2 month birthday #IsraelDavidDillard. We are so blessed to be your parents. May you grow up to love Jesus and serve others,” Jill captioned the adorable photo posted to her Instagram account.
Moments later, Derick posted the same photo, with a message to fans about his son — “Happy 2 month birthday Israel! May you continue to grow both in stature and in favor with the Lord and also with man.”
Fans of the TLC reality show were overjoyed when Israel David was born on April 6, but since the Josh Duggar molestation scandal started making headlines, there hasn’t been much positive chatter about the 19 Kids family.
Last week, FOX aired a two-part interview about the scandal. Josh’s parents, Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar’s interview with Megyn Kelly aired on Wednesday. Josh’s sisters, Jill Dillard and Jessa Seewald appeared on The Kelly File Friday, revealing that they were two of his sexual abuse victims.
According to NBC, Jill Dillard was “outraged” when they found out the report about Josh would be published in InTouch magazine.
“I couldn’t believe what was going on… What right do you have to do this? We’re victims. They can’t do this to us.”
Jessa, who is expecting her first child with her new husband, Ben Seewald, told Megyn Kelly that she and her sister, Jill have forgiven their brother for his “inappropriate touching” back in 2002 and 2003.
“In Josh’s case, he was a boy, young boy in puberty and a little too curious about girls. And that got him into some trouble. And he made some bad choices. But, really, the extent of it was mild, inappropriate touching on fully clothed victims, most of it while girls were sleeping.”
According to a previous report from the Inquistir, the interview minimized the seriousness of the situation and may have been an attempt to save the Duggar’s long-running reality show from being permanently cancelled.
