At this point, the world knows that Ben Affleck is set to appear in Suicide Squad as Batman. Now that the director has promised there will still be surprises in the film, fans are wondering if one of those surprises may be Affleck’s Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice co-star Henry Cavill.
There have been plenty of leaks and spoilers concerning the coming Suicide Squad film, largely due to its very public filming in Toronto. Although David Ayers assured fans that the biggest secrets were still intact, another leak has surfaced concerning Batman’s (Ben Affleck) role in the movie.
Plus, director David Ayers is fully aware of the leaks and promises fans will still be surprised.
“Well we survived the streets. Time to go dark now,” Ayer posted on his Twitter account , referring to the fact that the team was moving indoors to finish production. “Remember, only the tiniest glimpse has been exposed. Our surprises are intact.”
Could one of those surprises be an appearance by the man who plays Superman to Affleck’s Batman?
An Instagram account for the DC Cinematic Universe recently posted a picture of Cavill with the caption, “I’m not sure about his Rumor I’ve heard #HenryCavill / Clark Kent will appear in #SuicideSquad film!”
According to Heroic Hollywood , Batman will be making an appearance in the film when he pays a visit to the founder of the Suicide Squad , Amanda Waller. Waller is being played by Viola Davis and is the person behind the idea to send the villains on secret government missions. In the comics, Batman visits Waller to warn her about assembling such a crew, and any harm that comes from it will be laid at her doorstep.
The recent news comes after fans leaked video of a car chase being filmed in Toronto between Batman and the Joker (Jared Leto). The video shows the Batmobile rumbling down the street after the Joker, who has Harley Quinn (Margot Robbie) as a passenger. The clip was among the first pieces of evidence that Batman would make an appearance in the movie.
Although the video spoiled what would have been a big surprise for fans, it is possible that the sequence was only a minor part in the movie. Furthermore, since it has been leaked, filmmakers might use it as part of the first trailer in order to generate more buzz for the movie.
Suicide Squad , starring Will Smith, Cara Delevigne, Jai Courtney, and Adam Beach, is set to be released to theaters August 5, 2016.
