‘The Walking Dead’ Introduces Heath To Season 6

Rumors have been running rife recently about the introduction of a new character to Season 6 of AMC’s The Walking Dead. First it was blurry images on the Spoiling Dead Fans Facebook page. While many Walking Dead comic books fans pointed to the image below and saw a dead ringer for comic book character, Heath, to TV fans of The Walking Dead, it just looked like someone standing around in a hoodie, crew perhaps, or a friend or family member of the cast or crew. But, it turns out the Spoiling Dead Fans were right all along. After all, the comic book character of Heath is known to wear a hoodie-type sweater very similar to the one worn by the person standing next to Michonne.

The image above for Season 6 of The Walking Dead appeared on June 2, 2015. It wasn’t long after that a clearer image showed up on their page, along with the announcement of an actor’s name, Corey Hawkins.

Now the Hollywood Reporter has come forward with a high-resolution image along with the announcement that Corey Hawkins will, in fact, be joining The Walking Dead as Heath.

Corey Hawkins has officially joined the cast of The Walking Dead, although it seems his original casting call was for a character called Delvin. But that’s not unusual for AMC, after all, considering The Walking Dead is based on a comic book series, if they were to do casting calls for the actual character names, it would provide big spoilers for people who have read the comics.

But who is Heath?

According to Movie Pilot, Heath “is a supply runner for Alexandria. After his former supply runner partner Scott was injured, he and Glenn begin working together.” Heath will be a new friend for Glenn as well as saving his life more than once while they are out on supply runs — so nothing at all like the people from Alexandria Glenn was lumped with in Season 5. Heath also provided a love interest to a character called Denise in the comic books. With the addition of a casting call for a psychologist called Allison, it is possible this character name could really be a cover name for the role of Dr. Denise Cloyd, the love interest of Heath.
