Neil Patrick Harris is heading back to the Tony Awards. The star of “How I Met Your Mother” hosted the Broadway show in 2009 and 2011 and will return to the stage this one more time this June.
The Washington Post reports that NPH has brought the Tony Awards great reviews and solid ratings. In 2011, close to 7 million people tuned in to watch Harris sing and dance.
Harris wrote on Twitter:
“I’m thrilled to be a part of this year’s TONY Awards. Not only will I be shining a spotlight on the best that Broadway has to offer, but hopefully I’ll score some free house seats to a show – or five!”
Harris, who is openly gay, has a huge fan base. Last year the CBS star attempted to widen the Tony Award audience by proudly proclaiming “It’s Not Just For Gays Anymore” in an awesome song and dance number.
The 2012 Tony Awards will air on Sunday, June 10, on CBS.
