WWE Rumors: ‘SummerSlam’ Plans Seem To Have Already Changed For Brock Lesnar And The Former Members Of The Shield
Most of the talk right now is when Brock Lesnar is actually going to return to WWE television, and all anyone knows for sure is that it will happen soon. Other strong rumors have to do with the three former members of The Shield. Well, now there is a lot of talk happening about those four men and their big-time roles throughout the coming months and into SummerSlam, but they aren’t what you may think.
Please remember that the following information has not been confirmed in any way, and are simply WWE rumors.
Originally, it appeared as if the “Beast Incarnate” was not coming back until the Monday Night Raw after the Battleground pay-per-view in late July. That would have given him about a month to set up a program with someone and have a big match at SummerSlam.
That “someone” was expected to be Seth Rollins as he will likely hold onto the WWE World Heavyweight Title throughout the summer. Obviously, that’s what Lesnar wants along with revenge on Rollins for taking it from him.
Those plans don’t appear to be in the cards anymore.
With Brock Lesnar‘s return being pushed up to sometime right after Money In The Bank, he could in turn have a match with Rollins at Battleground. Win or lose, this would have the match take place, and get it out of the way.
Yes, it’s true that the feud could continue onward to SummerSlam with Lesnar still chasing after the title, but Lesnar vs. Rollins at that event isn’t what WWE has planned anymore, per The Wrestling Observer. It’s not known what is in the works, but there may be another person added to the match to make it a bit more “fair” for Rollins, so to speak.
As for the other two members of The Shield, that’s where things get even more interesting.
Dean Ambrose and Roman Reigns have formed an alliance that just seems a tad too unrealistic and over the top. Many people are expecting Reigns to turn on Ambrose, turn heel, and cost him the title at Money In The Bank.
A heel turn may happen, but with so many expecting it to be Reigns, WWE may look to swerve the swerve.
Cageside Seats reports that instead of Reigns turning heel, WWE may have Ambrose turn heel as they originally planned some months ago. Perhaps, Reigns will inadvertently cost Ambrose his title win and that will cause the “Lunatic Fringe” to lose his mind.
Maybe that will help Reigns get over a bit more.
Both of these rumors could end up culminating with huge matches for WWE SummerSlam with Dean Ambrose vs. Roman Reigns along with Brock Lesnar vs. Seth Rollins vs. a third superstar thrown in the mix. The Shield, even though separate, and Lesnar are taking center stage and leading toward a fun summer.
