Mike Huckabee Scrubs Duggars From Campaign Website After Disastrous Megyn Kelly Interview

Has Mike Huckabee decided, following Megyn Kelly’s interview with the Duggars, that they’re no longer a good endorsement of his campaign? It looks as though that may be the case — a portion of his campaign website devoted to showing his endorsements no longer portrays the Duggars as supporters.

Here’s a screenshot of Mike Huckabee’s campaign site last month, courtesy of the Way Back Machine.

Let’s zoom in on that a little bit.

Who supports Mike Huckabee? The Duggars, yes or no?

The top two photos on the right, among folks Huckabee is listing as his supporters, are Michelle and Jim Bob Duggar.

Huckabee has spoken in support of the Duggars, and Josh in particular, in the wake of the release of a police report detailing crimes Josh committed as a teenager, and the Duggars have expressed support of Huckabee in multiple political contexts.

However, sometime in the past several days, something in that support went a bit less public: Mike Huckabee’s campaign site no longer displays the Duggars as prominent supporters. The website itself is here, and you can see a screenshot below.

Again, here’s the close-up of the most relevant portion, the sidebar on the right where Huckabee’s prominent supporters are shown, and you’re invited to give your support as well.

Did Huckabee deliberately remove the Duggars from his site?

Might it simply be that Huckabee rearranges his list of supporters, shuffles them and adds new faces from time to time? That could be a possibility, but looking through archived versions of the page and simply selecting random dates, we find the Duggars listed prominently on every date that the list of supporters exists (it appeared sometime in April) until this week.

In fact, the Duggars are still listed prominently in a snapshot of Huckabee’s site taken June 1.

The other supporters listed remain consistent, with the same faces showing up throughout the site’s existence.

Of course, Huckabee took a great deal of criticism for supporting Josh Duggar (followed by even more when a video surfaced in which Huckabee said he wished he could’ve lied and claimed to be transgender during high school years, to be allowed to shower with the girls after gym class), so maybe he’s hit a point where his advisors are telling him the Duggars aren’t good for his campaign anymore.

It doesn’t seem likely that the Duggars are the ones pulling their support from Mike Huckabee, instead: in the Kelly File interview Wednesday night, Jim Bob Duggar quoted Mike Huckabee’s statement about Josh’s actions:

“Inexcusable, but not unforgivable.”

Whether Mike Huckabee has lost the Duggars’ support, or just chosen to distance himself from the family, but it seems likely that either way, the damage has already been done.
