Young Thug Pines For Gucci Mane In Prison: ‘I Love And Miss U’, Gets Ice Cream Tattoo
Young Thug has had some strange interactions with various people, and he certainly has a flair for saying and doing out of the ordinary things, such as his declaration that he’s associated with the Crips, a gang that has been responsible for serious bloodshed throughout major cities, and sometimes remote areas of the United States. You can read about that declaration of his association with the Crips here.
He’s been warring with Lil Wayne for a while now as well. It started out as Young Thug wanting to flatter rapper Lil Wayne by naming his album “Carter 6” — but Lil Wayne didn’t appreciate the homage and became quite irritated with Young Thug. The battle has been raging for a while now, and the two show no signs of reconciliation. There’s no worries, though, as it appears Young Thug has a new idol: Gucci Mane.
Gucci Mane is a rapper who is currently imprisoned and has a history of serious criminal behavior, including killing a man (a charge that was later dismissed) and numerous convictions of assault and battery, the most recent being in 2014 when he smashed a vodka bottle over a fan’s head, causing a serious laceration and requiring ten sutures. That is not his first assault charge, however; he’s been convicted on previous accounts. While at one time there was a question as to Mane’s sanity when he got an ice cream cone tattooed on his cheek, his representative quickly put those rumors to rest, stating that he was “Cool like ice cream, Brrrrr.”
Young Thug apparently feels that imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, because he got a very similar tattoo on his cheek. His love of Gucci Mane has been documented for several years, but nothing quite this permanent has ever been noted. Young Thug posted an Instagram pic of himself smoking a cigarette in bed with the tattoo homage prominently displayed, and he captioned it “Free guwop Love and Miss U”.
Its unclear if there’s been word from prison about Gucci Mane’s reaction to the tattoo, nor the declaration of love, but anything would probably be a better reaction to Young Thug’s admiration than Lil Wayne’s was.
Young Thug has a growing following, no doubt in response to his sometimes outrageous actions and controversial song lyrics. Some have argued that Young Thug’s lyrics promote violence, and Gucci Mane has a propensity towards violence — that’s why he’s in prison, after all — so maybe it’s a mutual admiration.
