The Walking Dead is about to “witness the strength of street knowledge.” Before you read on, be forewarned that some spoiler-ific knowledge about The Walking Dead is ahead.
The real Dr. Dre from N.W.A. isn’t joining the cast of the show, but the actor who plays the rapper in the Straight Outta Compton movie has scored a huge role on The Walking Dead . According to Undead Walking , Corey Hawkins will play a character who was dubbed “Delvin” in a Walking Dead casting call. However, fans of the comic books might know him by a different name — Corey definitely looks like Heath in the photos that are being shared on the Spoiling Dead Fans Facebook page.
The casting call described Delvin as “an intelligent, cynical, and serious-minded guy with a ‘Jim from The Office ‘ level of disbelief and dislike for the stupidity he often encounters.” He’s a sarcastic man who thinks that people can be “very dumb,” but he’s not one to lose his temper while dealing with their idiocy.
“If pressed, he’d reluctantly admit that he thinks most people have the potential to be good.”
The good folks over on the Spoiling Dead Fans page report that they’re “99 [percent] positive” that Corey Hawkins has joined the cast of the Walking Dead , and he’s been spotted on set sporting dreads and glasses. Heath rocks a similar hairstyle, and he also wears glasses.
As the Inquisitr previously reported, Heath is a member of the Alexandria community in The Walking Dead comic books. He’s a supply runner, and he first pops up when Aaron asks Rick Grimes’ group to come to Alexandria. Heath hasn’t been seen or mentioned on the TV series, so the explanation for his absence should be interesting.
A casting call also went out for a female character who might be Heath’s love interest, but there’s been no word of an unidentified actress spending time with Delvin/Heath on The Walking Dead set. He’s been photographed shooting scenes with Michonne (Danai Gurira), but it’s Glenn (Steven Yeun) who really needs him — Glenn could use a friend to watch his back whenever he’s out on a run with murderous Nicholas (Michael Traynor).
Unfortunately, The Walking Dead giveth and The Walking Dead taketh away. The show can only follow so many characters, so sometimes someone has to be killed off to make room for a fresh face. According to Cinemablend , actor Michael Cudlitz possibly revealed that Eugene (Josh McDermitt) and his mullet won’t make it out of Season 6 alive.
Cudlitz tweeted a message to McDermitt that sounded an awful lot like a final farewell, and he later edited the tweet so that it didn’t seem so ominous. Now, fans aren’t sure whether Eugene has really met his maker or whether Cudlitz was just messing with them.
