The ‘Fallout 4’ Countdown To 14: Pre-order Deals, In Depth Sneak Peaks, And What We Know So Far Before Bethesda’s June Release

The Fallout 4 rumors were finally confirmed when Bethesda Softworks made the announcement Wednesday that Fallout 4 is definitely happening this 2015.

Everyone is already excited and hyped up about the follow-up (at last!) to Fallout 3 back in 2008. And hours into the announcement of Fallout 4, Gamespresso reports that games outlet Green Man Gaming has already released a pretty sweet deal for Fallout 4 .

Pre-purchase Fallout 4 in the next 48 hours from Green Man Gaming and you can get it for $46 instead of 59.99. The staggering 23 percent discount could be availed at the website upon checkout, with the promo code 23PERC-ENTOFF-48HOUR. And as soon as Fallout 4 is released, players who pre-purchased Fallout 4 will be supplied with a Steam key to access the game.

Although, of course, some would advise against players who are well into pre-purchasing, the hype built up by the recent Fallout 4 trailer and the jaw-dropping deal by Green Man Gaming couldn’t possibly stop Fallout fans from pre-purchasing the game. Having second thoughts about your purchase? Here are bits and pieces of what we know so far about Fallout 4 to help a bit with the pre-purchasing dilemma.

Vault 111 is Fallout 4’s main vault and is where the main character comes out from. IGN reports that previous leaks predict that the Fallout 4 main character is put on the vault in a cryogenic sleep for 200 years. Pretty interesting, don’t you think?

Speaking of leaks, also almost a year ago, a supposed employee who previously worked for Bethesda claims to have released a couple of spoilers for Fallout 4 on Reddit. A lot of people did not believe the post but after the Fallout 4 trailer came out, Destructoid says there might actually be some meat to what SandraReed has posted since a couple of her leaks turned out true.

SandraReed has posted:

“LOCATION: Fallout 4 is set in and around Boston and the surrounding countryside.”

True enough, the trailer confirmed that Fallout 4 will be set on Boston. The image below reads the words “Scollay” at the upper right part and this means players will be seeing Fallout 4? s take on the Scollay Square at Boston. This is just one of the many shots seen of Boston on the Fallout 4 trailer.

“CREATURES: Super Mutants return, in the same form as the ones from Fallout 3 , keeping in line with the ‘East Coast’ mutants.”

Below is another freeze frame from the Fallout 4 trailer, a very menacing silhouette of an undeniable super mutant. Deathclaw will be very formidable indeed—that silhouette itself is pretty scary, only one of the numerous mutant monsters crawling on the Boston wastelands—and that’s another point for SandraReed.

Another leak by SandraReed that has been very controversial is her claim that the Fallout 4 protagonist will be strictly male. Fallout fans took harshly to this since it’s been characteristic of Bethesda to allow players to choose their gender but her post on Reddit clearly claimed otherwise.

“In Fallout 4 , mixing things up, we are making the game more ‘Story Based’ and the player character will finally talk, and narrate his storyline. At the beginning of the game, you create your character (You can only be a male in the main story).”

With most of her leaks proved to be true, there may be some chance that this gender option for Fallout 4 could be as well. While Fallout fans who commented on her Reddit post shot down her spoilers, SandraReed claims that there will be something story-related that might back-up this decision by Bethesda. It certainly is something to look forward to in Fallout 4 , if in case it turns out true.

And like Ubisoft’s decision to let older-generation consoles go, Bethesda is also abandoning the older Xbox and PlayStation for Fallout 4. Fallout 4 will only be coming to Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC platforms.
