Southwest Airlines Launches Epic 72 Hour Fare Sale, Offers $47 Flights
Southwest Airlines has announced a new three-day sale for late summer and fall travel with one-way fares for select routes starting for as low as $47. According to AZ Central, the sale which would end on June 4 is valid for travels between August 24 and December 16. The fares are applicable only for non-stop routes that Southwest Airlines operates – and as you might have already expected, there are lots of conditions that you need to fulfil to be able to book flights for less than $50. These include the fact that the tickets for Fridays and Sundays do not qualify for the discount.
According to The Huffington Post, the fares have been listed at four price levels with the lowest priced tickets going for $47 and $49. Other price levels include $99, $129 and $149. Southwest Airlines operates around hundreds of daily non stop flights from various airports across the U.S. – so you have lots of options to choose from.
Coming back to the travel restrictions, also note that the fares are not valid for travel during the Labor Day and Thanksgiving holidays. People who plan to travel to Las Vegas might be disappointed over the fact that the discounted fares are applicable only on Tuesday and Wednesday flights to Nevada. Similarly, for flights to/from San Juan, Puerto Rico the discounted fares are valid only on Mondays through Thursdays.
That being said, the fares would definitely be a boon for travelers who have flexible schedules and for businessmen who plan to travel Southwest Airlines in the next few months. For those of you who have already booked tickets during the time these discounted fares are applicable, worry not. Southwest Airlines has confirmed that you can visit the Airlines’ change reservation link, which could help you get your tickets for the discounted fare. In case you are wondering what the fares are like, you might want to visit the Southwest Airlines website which has the complete details.
Now that Southwest Airlines has started off the proceedings it is likely that its competitors would also launch similar discounts. So, as always, make sure you check the fares on other carriers too before you confirm your booking with Southwest Airlines.
It is pertinent to note that Southwest Airlines had launched a similar fare sale last year as well which had led to similar discounts being offered by other Airlines. Do you think it is going to happen this year as well?
