Missing California Mom May Have Been Kidnapped
A missing California mom of a 2-year-old little girl may have been kidnapped, according to family members. Monique Figueroa, 27, disappeared on May 19, and loved ones claim she would have never walked away voluntarily.
People reports that Monique Figueroa, of Littlerock, California, was last seen on May 19 in the Los Angeles area while driving away in her 2004 burgundy-colored Mercedes Benz SUV. Her father, Jeff Figueroa, who saw her leave, told police she was on her way to visit a friend, but she hasn’t been heard from since.
On Saturday, Figueroa’s vehicle was found in Littlerock, off of the side of Fort Tejon Road. Monique was not in the vehicle, and her father indicates it looks as if she were ran off the side of the road. The vehicle contained numerous scratches. He also stated that he believes his daughter was kidnapped, and it could possibly be by someone who knows her.
“I believe my daughter was kidnapped due to the company she kept and the knowledge she knows about possible murders. “
Monique’s family stated that she used to hang around known gang members in the area, including her boyfriend, David McCall, who was recently arrested for murder. However, Jeff fully admits that these are just assumptions at this point, and they aren’t sure exactly how or why Monique went missing.
“We’re just assuming that’s why she was kidnapped. We’re hoping for the best, of her safe return.”
L.A. County Sheriff Lt. Steve Jauch stated that McCall’s arrest stems from a “gangland murder” case in California. It’s possible that Monique was kidnapped due to excessive knowledge of the murder and other people’s involvement.
Jeff Figueroa Jr., Monique’s brother, says that although his sister knows gang members, she would never leave behind her 2-year-old daughter nor leave without telling anyone anything. He also indicated that she’s a great mother who is mixed up with the “wrong people.”
“She wouldn’t just leave. She’s a really good girl, she always worked and she wouldn’t just disappear like that.”
Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Homicide Bureau is currently investigating the case. Anyone with information at all is urged to call them at 323-890-5500, or Crime Stoppers at 800-222-8477.
Meanwhile, a Facebook page and a GoFundMe account, entitled “Finding Mo,” has been created for the missing California mom. Family members state that any assistance at all, no matter how small, can go a long way in helping bring her back home.
