Jenner Twitter Record: Caitlyn Jenner Speaks Out About Setting Another World Record
A Caitlyn Jenner Twitter record has officially been set. Caitlyn, formerly known as Bruce Jenner, is the fastest person to reach the one million followers mark, replacing the record formerly owned by Robert Downey Jr. and later President Barack Obama.
According to USA Today, Caitlyn Jenner gained one million followers in a little over four hours after creating her Twitter account on Monday and introducing herself to fans as Caitlyn and sharing her Vanity Fair Magazine cover with the world. Jenner’s new name then began to trend on the social networking site, and along with the magazine cover and trending topic, the Kardashians also promoted Caitlyn’s new account.
The Guinness World Records Twitter account tweeted the official announcement saying that Caitlyn had taken the world record, which was most recently owned by President Barack Obama, who earned one million followers in about 4.5 hours.
“4 hrs and 3 mins! @Caitlyn_Jenner just set a new record for fastest time to reach 1 million followers on @Twitter.”
So, was President Obama upset by his dethroning? Not in the least. In fact, his reaction was very classy as he simply stated his feelings about Jenner’s journey.
“It takes courage to share your story.”
Upon hearing that she had set a world record on Twitter, Caitlyn Jenner sent out a tweet thanking all of her supporters and referencing the fact that this isn’t the first time Jenner has set a world record, referring to her life as Olympian Bruce Jenner who was proclaimed the world’s greatest athlete and took home a gold medal in the decathlon.
“Another Jenner world record, and at 65? Who’da thought! Humbled & honored to have reached 1M followers in 4 hrs. Thank you for your support.”
As previously reported by the Inquisitr, Jenner is getting a lot of positive support from fans, but it is her family that is really rallying around her. Saying goodbye to Bruce Jenner isn’t easy for them, but they’ve been very supportive in trying to understand their dad’s journey. Kendall and Kylie Jenner reportedly even love their father’s new female name.
“Kendall and Kylie think the name is cute and are just so thrilled their father loved a name so much, since this will be the identity for the rest of her life. Even the Kardashian girls love the name!”
