When seasoned MMA fans are asked who the toughest female fighter is in the sport, you’d be surprised most won’t say Ronda Rousey. Rousey, though an amazing fighter, hasn’t really shown toughness as in the endurance while in a painful situation. As a matter of fact, the one time Ronda Rousey had to really toughen it out was when she was locked in a neck crank submission during her fight with Liz Carmouche at UFC 157 .
If toughness is measured in endurance of a painful situation, Leslie Smith probably takes the moniker. As a testament to this, the Inquisitr reported during UFC 180 , Smith nearly had her ear ripped off during her fight against Jessica Eye. The fight was eventually stopped whch granted Eye the win, but it was evident Smith wanted to keep fighting .
The aforementioned report shows just how tough Leslie Smith is, but now there are new reports coming in showing her toughness yet again. Reportedly, Smith defended one of her female friends from a disgusting groper. Smith did this by destroying the groper in a California club.
Leslie Smith’s coach, Cesar Gracie, wrote about the incident on his official Facebook page , but Smith herself provided a more personal detail of the account with MMA Fighting . Smith said that she, fellow UFC fighter Heather Jo Clark, Clark’s boyfriend, and another female friend entered The Mint in the Hayes Valley neighborhood of San Francisco. Upon entering, another man passed behind them and copped a feel of Smith’s female friend’s butt.
“I followed him and I was like, ‘Hey, you can’t do that,’ And he was like, ‘I can do whatever I want.’ And I was like, ‘No, you can’t.’ Then he turned around and spit on me and threw a big right hand.”
Apparently, the unnamed man did not know who he was dealing with. He surely suffered the consequence of his ignorance of the situation.
“He had my hair, so I pushed him against a building and then I double-legged him. I took him down against the cage and then I started to take his back, but his hair was really gross and it didn’t quite feel right.”
“I let go of that and just dropped elbows on him. He turned over and I just dropped elbows on him from mount against the building until he started saying, ‘I’m sorry.’ Then I stopped as soon as he said sorry, because that was really the only thing I went over there for.”
Originally, Leslie Smith was not going to come out publicly on what happened. However, Smith changed her mind when she found out her friends, especially her female friends, reacted positively to it.
Presently, Leslie Smith is recovering from a meniscus injury and hasn’t been cleared by doctors to fully train. Until then, Smith is running self-defense seminars at her coach’s gym. After word spreads about what she did to a disgusting groper at a California club, Leslie Smith may find herself teaching even more women how to defend themselves if they were to end up in a similar situation.
