It’s not every day that you hear Timbaland and Drake Bell in the news, let alone in the same sentence. Both musicians are making headlines today for their transphobic remarks about Caitlyn Jenner, formerly known as Bruce Jenner. Timbaland and Drake Bell have taken to social media to misgender the 65-year-old woman who was revealed on the cover of Vanity Fair on Monday morning.
Music producer Timbaland took to Facebook on Monday evening to share a meme on his profile. Timbaland told his fans that he’s still going to refer to Caitlyn Jenner as Bruce Jenner.
The “Way I Are” songwriter received mixed reactions from his fans. Some fans slammed Timbaland for his ignorance while others didn’t seem to mind his transphobic meme.
“Ignorance is bliss.”
“Timberland lost all his white fans…hahahahaha I’m sure he that bothered…”
“Wow, I didn’t know your real name was Timbaland.”
“Have a seat Timothy Zachery.”
“This account must’ve been hacked I can’t believe that he would jeopardize his career with #empire to voice an opinion such as this.”
“Genetics is who you are not what you feel no matter what science does not make you LOOK like something he will never be a woman you cannot change your DNA.”
“I am leaving this page. I’m surprised to be honest I’m sorry but I can’t support you any longer Timbaland.”
“Rude. Please take several seats. She can choose to live her life how she wants.”
Ouch. As you can see on Timbaland’s Facebook page, some of the comments are harsh from both sides. The music producer still hasn’t removed the transphobic meme from his Facebook profile. Timbaland also hasn’t apologized or responded to his remarks regarding Caitlyn Jenner.
Earlier in the day, Drake Bell slammed Caitlyn Jenner’s name. The former Nickelodeon heartthrob took to Twitter to say, “Sorry….still calling you Bruce.” The outspoken social media user deleted the tweet, but he was too late. Drake was already slammed for his transphobic remarks toward Caitlyn.
Drake’s tweet was also saved by some of his former fans. Remember celebrities, your tweets will always remain on the internet, even after you delete them. The Fairly Odd Movie star received his share of hate. Some would say, it was rightfully so. As you can tell, some of Drake Bell’s former fans weren’t so nice to him.
“Sorry….still calling you irrelevant.”
“I always liked Josh better.”
“Ahhh this is so uncalled for. This generation was in need of a transgender inspiration and Caitlyn fits this role. She’s beaut.”
“This is why you’re poor.”
“Blocking you on all social media bye.”
In fact, Drake Bell’s name is still trending on Twitter in the United States. Some of his former fans and haters have made memes out of the actor by comparing his net worth to Caitlyn Jenner’s net worth.
Drake Bell isn’t letting go of his recent Twitter drama. He took to Twitter to explain his transphobic comments and managed to fail in a series of tweets.
“That’s bravery! Good thing social media has no effect on real life. I’m not dissing him! I just don’t want to forget his legacy! He is the greatest athlete of all time! Chill out!”
Despite all of the support Caitlyn Jenner has been getting since her Vanity Fair cover, not everyone has been supportive. It looks like some celebrities are coming out of the woodwork to make some insensitive and transphobic remarks. Even Steve Howey, supporting actor of Reba , tried to make some funny remarks and failed in the process.

Oh sorry Caitlyn. She looks more like a Tabitha or Jenny.

Some would say that these celebs should think before they post or tweet.
What are your thoughts on Timbaland and Drake Bell’s social media posts? Do you think they should keep their comments to themselves?
