Before Sarah Jones was a Cincinnati Bengals cheerleader she was a teacher at Dixie Heights High School in Kentucky. Jones allegedly had sex with one of her students during her time as a teacher. The Cincinnati Enquirer reports that the Ben-Gal has been indicted on felony charges of first-degree sexual abuse.
According to New York Daily News, Jones, 26, is being accused of having sex with a 16-year-old high school football player. The investigator in the case claims that the student visited Jones’ apartment four or five times and that they exchanged several sexual text messages.
Jones resigned from her teaching job at Dixie Heights last year citing “personal reasons.”
Yard Barker reports that Jones’ mother, Cheryl Jones, has been indicted on charges of tampering with physical evidence. Jones’ lawyer, Eric Deters, said that both of his clients are innocent. Deters said:
“Sarah denies it completely and apparently the quote, un quote ‘victim’ denies it and is not cooperating… His parents are upset Sarah is having to go through this which is not usually the case in these situations.”
The Bengals released a statement, saying:
“The club is aware of the situation, and it’s an ongoing process to collect the information that can guide appropriate actions as warranted.”
This isn’t the first time that the Bengals cheerleader’s sexual activity has been in the news. In 2009 Jones sued Nik Richie, the founder of TheDirty.com for posting a picture of Jones. Richie claimed that Jones had had sex with several Bengals player and had a STD.
Jones said that the allegations were untrue and that they ruined her reputation. Jones said:
“I literally broke down… I worked my butt off to make sure I had a clean, great reputation and then it was ruined by one post… I think I hit rock bottom when a student said she would never learn from a slut like me.”
Jones was originally awarded $11 million in the lawsuit but the NY Daily notes that litigation continues in the case.
