Kate Middleton Already Under Pressure To Have Baby No. 3, Rumors Indicate
Kate Middleton just welcomed her second baby into the world, but rumors indicate that the Duchess of Cambridge is already under pressure by some family members to have royal baby No. 3.
It has been a difficult road to having two children. Kate endured two difficult pregnancies with Prince George and Princess Charlotte, suffering from severe morning sickness that grew so bad she was essentially bed-bound for large stretches in each pregnancy.
But despite the difficulties — and a reported insistence from Duchess Kate that she’s done having children — there are some close to the royal couple rumored to be putting pressure on them to have another.
The Hollywood Gossip reported that the pressure is coming from Carole Middleton, Duchess Kate’s mom.
“That’s right, Kate’s mom – not any member of Prince William’s royal family – is the one urging the Duchess of Cambridge to keep crankin’ ’em out.
“Her first two pregnancies captivated the world, stimulated the British economy hard and generally made Kate and all things close to her look swell.
“Carole, meanwhile, is seen by many observers as the quiet orchestrator behind the scenes of Kate’s subtle but firm break from royal family tradition.”
Apparently other family members agree. Kate Middleton’s uncle, Gary Goldsmith, told Hello! that he thinks the couple will be having more. India Hicks, Prince Charles’ cousin, agreed.
“I think [Kate Middleton and Prince William] could have the perfect ending with a boy and girl. But I suspect they won’t stop there,” Hicks said.
But Kate Middleton may be too busy to have another child, as the Duchess is already returning to her royal engagement duties. The Huffington Post reported that Duchess Kate will be on-call June 13 for Queen Elizabeth II’s birthday parade. Sources say the Queen even insisted that Kate make an appearance.
There had been rumors that Kate Middleton would be taking a longer maternity leave, but if she is indeed back for the birthday parade it would give her 42 days of leave — just three days more than she took after giving birth to Prince George.
When it comes to Kate Middleton and baby No. 3, it can be hard to differentiate rumor from fact. It wasn’t long after Duchess Kate gave birth to Prince George that rumors started about when she would have a second baby, and there were a number of false reports leading up to her actual announcement last year that she was pregnant.
