‘General Hospital’ Casting News: Dillon Quartermaine Returns, Who Is Taking On The Role?

A key Quartermaine family member is headed back to Port Charles soon, and fans are anxious for details on this General Hospital casting news. There are a lot of wild story developments ahead for this summer, and viewers will be curious to see how this all ties together. What General Hospital spoilers are available on this front?

It has been teased that the character of Dillon Quartermaine, Tracy’s son, is going to pop back up in Port Charles again. Of course, long-time GH fans know that a recast is in order for this to happen, as Scott Clifton is keeping quite busy as Liam Spencer over on The Bold and the Beautiful. Until now, there hadn’t been any word on who the show chose to go with in Clifton’s place for Dillon’s return.

According to Soap Opera Digest, a new Dillon Quartermaine has now been found. Actor Robert Palmer Watkins will be taking over the role, and early General Hospital spoilers detail that the new Dillon will be interacting quite a bit with Lulu during his return.

While Robert Palmer Watkins has been in the industry for a few years, chances are probably pretty good that he won’t be a familiar face to GH fans. As his IMDb page notes, Watkins’ most recent project that was relatively substantial was in a web series called Last Life where he played a character named Shane Isaacs.

Rob has had a number of other guest appearances in various shows, though most of them probably aren’t stints that the typical General Hospital viewer would have come across. Interviews and YouTube clips of Watkins show that he definitely has a look and style that will grab the attention of younger viewers, and he looks like a potentially great fit for the role of Dillon.

Emme Rylan, who plays Lulu, says that Rob is “so prepared every single day and so freakin’ into it. They couldn’t have found a better guy” to take over the role.

Rylan also adds that she loves Rob and he’s been a lot of fun to work with already. When does Dillon first appear? While the network hasn’t laid out a definitive starting air date yet, buzz on Twitter seems to be that the young Quartermaine may pop into town as early as the beginning of June.

Watkins’ Vimeo page shares that he was raised in Virginia and North Carolina. Rob has always loved entertaining and he was hooked on performing after his first high school play. He did a lot of volunteer work in the Richmond, Virginia, community during his teens, and he went to Christopher Newport University and the American Musical and Dramatic Academy.

General Hospital spoilers have teased that this is a summer that fans won’t want to miss. Laura returns to town briefly, but Luke is leaving and this time it’s said to be for good. The mystery regarding Jake’s identity continues, but secrets are on the verge of being revealed. How does Dillon Quartermaine fit into all of the drama? Fans can’t wait to find out as General Hospital kicks off a wild summer in the weeks ahead.
