Allen Iverson Sock Endorsement: Former NBA Star Gets New Deal
Retired NBA star Allen Iverson has a brand new endorsement deal.
TMZ Sports reports that the 39-year-old former 76ers point guard has secured a multi-year deal with Stance, a sock company that has locations in New York and California.

A Stance company representative opened up to TMZ Sports about the deal with an official statement.
“We’re excited to welcome Allen Iverson to the Stance family, and we look forward to working closely with him.”
Through its official website, Stance referred to Allen Iverson as being “the uncommon thread” — which is apparently the company’s tagline.
Under the section, “Punks and Poets,” the site goes into further detail about how Allen Iverson has lived up to that trademark through his overall success in the NBA.
“Over the course of a 14 year NBA career, Iverson averaged a staggering 26.7 points, 6.2 assists and 2.2 steals per game. The long-time Philadelphia 76er was voted onto 11 All-Star teams, was named NBA MVP in 2001 and is a surefire hall of famer.”
In addition to his success on the court, the Stance website also shines a spotlight on Allen Iverson’s massive cultural impact on the NBA as well — especially at the height of his career.
“As impactful as his game was on the court, though, the 6-0 dynamo made an even bigger cultural dent off of it. The native of Virginia brought cornrows, tats and headbands to the NBA. He brought style, attitude and hip-hop to the league. More than that, he brought them to pop culture.”
As part of the company’s “Punks and Poets” series, Allen Iverson is also featured in a YouTube video discussing why he feels it is so important to remain true to himself regardless of the opinions of other people.

Allen Iverson is apparently not the only person representing the NBA with endorsement deals from Stance. TMZ reports that current NBA stars — including Dwyane Wade, Klay Thompson, and Chandler Parsons — have also secured deals of their own with the company.
After its successful debut at the 2014 Tribeca Film Festival, the Allen Iverson documentary, Iverson, premiered on Showtime earlier this month. The film focused on different parts of Iverson’s life (on and off the court) as well as interviews with some of his former coaches and NBC journalist Tom Brokaw.
With a new endorsement deal and a documentary film, Allen Iverson could very well be trying to rebuild his brand in the public eye.
