Kandi Burruss Working With Demetria McKinney On Her New Album

Kandi Burruss is back in the recording studio. On Sunday, the Real Housewives of Atlanta star posted a video to her Instagram page, on which she revealed that she’s working with Demetria McKinney on her new album.

The video shows Demetria singing in Kandi’s studio. Kandi wrote that they were already starting to work on the fourth song for Demetria’s new album.

“My girl @demetria4real is bringing vocals on this album! 2 days. 3 songs. About to start #4. If you need an album done fast without messing up the quality hit us up. Lol!”

The two know each other well, since Demetria was a recurring housewife on the seventh season. While Demetria had some drama with Phaedra Parks during the season, due to Phaedra suggesting that she’s too old to start a career as a pop/R&B singer and so should instead try gospel music, she got along with Kandi. Even when Kandi’s friend, Gocha, announced to everyone at one of Kandi’s party that she dated Demetria’s boyfriend, Roger Bobb, implying that Roger cheated on Demetria with her, Demetria didn’t hold any grudges against Kandi.

In a BravoTV.com blog post, Kandi Burruss denied inviting Gocha to the party to purposefully create drama for Demetria McKinney.

“For everyone that tweeted saying Kandi must have known she dated Roger Bobb, the answer is yes. Of course I knew, BUT I wasn’t trying to set Demetria up. Carmon told me right before the party started that she had also invited our friends Toby and Gocha as well as a couple more people who couldn’t make it. I said to her that I didn’t know if it was a good idea for Gocha to come because she used to date Roger and Demetria was coming. Then Carmon asked me if she should call and tell Gocha not to come. I said not to do that because I didn’t even know Demetria that well, and it didn’t seem cool for me to tell Gocha, someone that I hang out with a lot, that she couldn’t come because Demetria, someone that I was just getting to know, was coming. It shouldn’t have been a big deal, because it had been a year from the date of the party since Gocha dated Roger, and on top of that Gocha was happy in a relationship. Unfortunately, as soon as Demetria said she was dating Roger Bobb for 8 years that was the end of party.”

Demetria later tweeted that she and Roger were on a break during the time that he hooked up with Gocha.

In an interview with Wetpaint Entertainment, posted on Tuesday, Kandi said that she’s happy to be working with Demetria.

“Demetria is bringing the vocals on her new album. I’m happy that she is fulfilling her dream, because that girl can sang!”

Demetria had kind words to say about Kandi’s musical talents, as well.

“I’ve been such a fan of Kandi. She’s super talented and it’s been an honor to be in the studio with her and the Kandi Factory Crew.”

While viewers saw Demetria McKinney throughout the seventh season, they didn’t see her on the reunion show. As previously reported by the Inquisitr, Demetria said that she declined to attend and film the reunion because she instead preferred to perform on stage that day. Hinting that she won’t be returning to film with Kandi Burruss and the other housewives, Demetria added that her purpose for joining The Real Housewives of Atlanta, to get exposure for her music, has been accomplished.
