Stephen Curry has his team on the doorstep of the NBA Finals, but instead it’s his wife Ayesha Curry stealing much of the spotlight from her famous husband.
Curry is the breakout star of the 2014-15 season, earning league MVP honors and setting the record for three-pointers made in a season.
Though Curry has been a star since he first stepped foot in the NBA, many casual fans — at least, those outside of the Bay Area — are finally starting to learn about him.
His family may be a big part of that. Steph Curry’s wife Ayesha has been featured on television many times, cheering on her husband from the stands and earning a lot of fans herself.
That was the case on Monday, when cameras focused on a worried Ayesha Curry after her husband suffered a frightening fall . Curry got caught in the air while trying to block a shot from Trevor Iriza, flipping over his back and crashing hard to the floor.
After some tense moments, Curry was seen jogging outside the locker room and eventually was able to return.
Cutty later told the Contra Costa Times that he was expecting the worst just before impact .
“I felt like R. Kelly in that video where the angels carried him away. It felt like I was in the air forever.”
Stephen Curry’s wife is not the only woman in his life sharing the spotlight. His mom, Sonya, has gotten plenty of attention herself for her vocal cheerleading and her youthful looks.

Curry also introduced the youngest woman in his life to the national stage this week. After the Warriors won game 3 to seize a 3-0 lead in the series, he invited his daughter Riley to the podium while the took questions from reporters.
Riley waved her hands in excitement and at one point told her daddy he was talking too loud in answering questions.
Not everyone agreed that it was an adorable moment, USA Today noted.
“A few writers, who apparently were worried about making their deadlines (though as former friend of For The Win Adi Joseph points out it was an early game), complained that kids shouldn’t be allowed on the podium because it’s a waste of time, stops their parents from answering tough questions, is a shield, etc etc.”
There may soon be even bigger attention for Stephen Curry’s wife Ayesha, his mom Sonya, and daughter Riley. The Warriors still have a 3-1 series lead and appear headed to the NBA Finals and a match-up against LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers.
There soon could be another family member to steal attention away as well. Stephen Curry’s wife Ayesha is pregnant, with the couple’s second child due in July.
