Will AMC Reveal Premiere Date Of ‘Fear the Walking Dead’ At San Diego Comic Con?

Fans of AMC’s The Walking Dead are waiting with absolute anticipation for any news on the start date to the spin-off series, Fear The Walking Dead. While some fans speculated the Memorial Day long weekend would be an excellent time to broadcast such news, the weekend came and passed without an announcement by AMC. The best fans got was a thirty second teaser video that contained some fairly intriguing footage of Fear The Walking Dead — albeit only mere seconds of it.

Now, speculation begins anew on when the start date for Fear The Walking Dead will be. While news recently broke it would be a late summer start, fans are now wondering if the announcement will be made at San Diego’s Comic Con. The event is being held between Wednesday, July 8, and Sunday, July 12, which means there is still time to build anticipation after a start date arrival if Fear The Walking Dead ends up premiering in late August.

For fans who regularly attend San Diego’s Comic Con and want to — potentially — be the first to hear the news, what panels will be the best ones to attend? There are just a couple to really keep your eye on, plus some fun ones that, while probably won’t be making announcements, will be loads of fun for Walking Dead fans.

• Firstly, try Nerd HQ if they attend San Diego Comic Con again this year. This panel originates from the Nerd Machine website and last year had Walking Dead actors as well as discussing aspects of the show. If it returns this year, it would not be surprising if actors or crew members from Fear The Walking Dead attend this panel.
• Ballroom 20. This is the place where all the cable and television networks preview all their upcoming shows for the year, and will most likely be the place to find any premiere date news on Fear The Walking Dead. It has been confirmed AMC will be there and they will be sharing news on their current schedule. Added to the mix will be new footage from both shows — if that doesn’t sound like the perfect time for a premiere date announcement, nothing does!
• Petco Park. This is the place to be if you want to participate in The Walking Dead Escape. The San Diego Comic Con website has confirmed this event will be running July 10 and 11, from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m., and gives fans the chance to battle Negan and his Saviors.
• Also in Petco Park will be the Walker Stalker Fan Fest. This event will give fans the chance to “participate in multiple Walking Dead immersive experiences at the Fan Fest, including interactive games, panels, and the opportunity to meet some of your favorite celebrities.” Walker Stalker Fan Fest will run from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday and Saturday.
